It's my first time to risk support this. What do you guy think of this game?

Great concept, definitely want to see that get done.

It's nice to see people try to combine interesting genres.

Something I spotted from FAQ:

Some of our favourite mod communities include the Elderscrolls, Total War and Mount & Blade communities.

edit:

Gotta love that Space Tsarist Empire setting. I wonder are the rebels going to be Space Bolsheviks?

The Mandate Kickstarter Combines FTL with XCOM

THIS is what I've wanted to see for a while. Boarding actions ship to ship? YES PLEASE! The module idea for space ships is great as well.

Yes, basic player might create or design captian and background, lead with crew to fighting defend and boarding, but I'm not sure, it's still pre-product, thought they may working "core-basic game" already for year. I think. Now come to think of it, I wonder if player had to fight ship battle out of space and boarding or defend ship inside same time?

There are a lot of sci-fi RPGs out there, but we feel there’s something lacking. Being huge fans of the sci-fi genre, we wondered why spaceships feel so empty? What’s missing? Looking back to all the TV and Movies that inspired us, like Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica or Firefly, we realised games are missing something integral: a crew. A ship without a crew feels hollow and meaningless, so we’ve taken space travel to the next level. The dangers of space should not only test your metal, but your flesh.

We wanted to make a game where you’re not a solid, singular object in a sky-box; you are a captain in an evolving, dynamic ship that hundreds of people call home. They adapt to you, and grow with you as you fight alongside them, and if you suffer losses, you’ll feel the loss that comes with that.

That’s where the drama is, that’s where the story happens, and it’s the interacting with people on the deck that makes this a complete experience.

Oohh. I like that. Never was keen on any of the gibberish or high-tech stuff that happened in sci-fi shows, but I've always loved seeing the crew and their interactions with eachother, seeing their characters and relationships fleshed out with each episode. If I could re-enact the same chemistry that Serenity's crew had in a videogame, that would just be awesome. They're also not the only developers to realize that potential awesomeness.

The instant I read this, I thought of "CK2... IN SPACE!".  Holy ****.

Their goal is way to high D: Wish it was at 100,000.
I understand they will need large amounts of resources but few projects make over 100 grand.

The idea itself is fantastic. I love the evolving crew and ship idea quoted above.

Well they have 46 more days to gather it, and with 100 000 already secure, I'm thinking the project has good chances of succeeding.

They should get more coverage soon:

Update #5

You asked for PR, so we got you PR

In short, it isn’t much use spending resources on press release distribution for day 1 of the campaign. The press have Kickstarter apathy. They aren’t interested in a project that hasn’t got any funding, or any backers. When you are asking for $500,000, if there isn’t any indication that anyone is interested, the press will not discuss your project regardless of who sends out the press release.

One week later, we absolutely have the statistics, community, concept, content, ideas, people, and smarts to start pushing the PR card hard. Now is the time to launch the PR campaign, and that’s why last week was spent in meetings with various top PR companies.

I pledged. It looks like a sort of game I would get very immersed in, assuming they can deliver on their promises. Worth a $20 risk to me.

And it passed with just over 750k. Excellent! Looking forward to this in a few years.
