Love the mod. I was using the recruit-everybody mod but everybody except Marnid and Borcha were waaay over-powered.

This is great. And the mod tools aren't even out yet :!:

Also partial to the name. Seven Samurai is probably my favorite film, and was the inspiration for the Magnificent Seven.

Im going to try and redo it this weekend. Make the script I added cleaner and use less cannibalizing. My first go round I was experimenting alot. This should make it old-save friendly as Ill leave the tavern inhabitants alone, put my new guys in the courtyard and find a new place for the prisoner.

Glad somebody likes it, I enjoy it just for the instant battles.

Magraev, I guess I could make the 7th knight cheaper but considering what you get.. (when you see his stats youll understand). He'd eat Kradus for lunch.
 
Wow. I dl'ed it yesterday and started a new character. This mod is GREAT!!! I had lots of fun and it gives a new goal to the game.

I really Love this mod, THNX!!!!
 
I ran into a problem (assertion failure) when trying to ransom Galahad. It happens every time I try.

I dunno if the problem is the knight or the blade i get at the same time though. Anybody else see this ?

So I'm just gonna let him rot in prison until there is a fix - no big deal. I'm at lvl 19 though, and I love all my knights dearly, so I'd hate to give up on the mod completely.
 
I tested it at 500 gold a bunch of times, then upped it to 100000 when I zipped it. Never tested as I didnt have that much money, heh.

Ill look at it and put up a fixed version.

Honestly I dont know. I didnt add any entries into the troop file, just changed already existing ones. That troop number is the same as vanilla M&B. Ive played it with my old level 45 guy for a long while to test the knight rewards and didnt see this.

Just in case that is some weird problem with your old save I would try bumping it up by 50 and try to play. Its an interesting problem though.

I tried upping the number by 5, 25, 50, 75, and 100, and everytime it told me that the assertion failed, something about C++.
 
Ravanne, I think I might know what your problem is about. Does it happen when you enter the Tavern at Zendar? Its an issue I fixed a couple of hours after upload and you may still have the old version.

If not then its likely a more serious issue and probably has something to do with my swapping NPC ID numbers around. Pretty much means that this version is not compatible with old saves. I plan to try a cleaner version this weekend that doesnt rely on old npc IDs and this might be old-save compatible.

If it doesnt happen at Zendar when does it occur? And put that number back to its original value, thats not the problem.

Magraev, I tested it on my computer just now several ways. Theres no check to see if you have room in your inventory when it gives you the sword but I tried with a full inventory and it just didnt give it to me but no crash. I tried with a full party of npcs, full party with troops and npcs, and a few other ways. I couldnt get a crash when recruiting the 7th guy.

Questions:
Did you start a fresh game? So it shows him joining your party and you losing money and getting the sword and then crashes? Is one of those results not displayed? Using any other mods? If youve modified item_kinds1.txt it might not be finding the rune_blade at position 185. Did you put the item_kinds1.txt file into your mods/native folder? If you didnt this is exactly the point where it would show up. Is your inventory full?

Last odd question, whats your strength score?

It happens as soon as I try and load my save, it waits about 10 seconds and then it tells me an error has occured.
 
It sounds like this is proof that old saves might have a problem. The mods really meant for a new game anyway.

If you *really* want to play with an old save youll have to wait for a new version where I dont reuse or reorder NPC IDs. That should work for old saves.
 
Well i tried reinstalling all backup-files and then the berserker-version. I cheated and went straight for the last guy. This time I got NO crash! I've played a bit after getting him and it works fine. The old save still crashes with the new mod though...

The only unusual thing I had installed before was the horse-archer mod - maybe that was the culprit? It didn't work anymore anyway.

Great work on the mod btw!
 
Ok, that made me laugh. Yes, I like horse-archer too but at the moment you have to try all these mods seperately. heh.
 
Actually making them work together is a 5 minute job so if Ancientwanker wishes I can add the horse-archer mod into his mod when he gets the clean version out

Magraev, if you want to try and save your Knights you should reinstall Knights again (not berseker) and try to load that save. That might do it.

Lost-lamb, yeah, I thought once there are a few good mods we could combine them into a community mod of some kind. A good filler till tools arrive.

Strange that the conflict only became critical after several weeks playing (gametime).
 
Sounds good to me. Altought the only content mods are atleast that i know of Atackable peasents/farmers, my recruit wich was made obsolete :wink: and my horse-archer mod. And ofcourse the diferent armor mods

BTW: ancient your caps are done
 
no, not at you, just the situation. When did you install horsearcher? After Knights?

If so, just reinstall knights then load your save. Should work.

How long will I have to wait for this 'new version'?
 
Ill work on it this weekend and if it doesnt blow up Ill post it.
