I'm sure everyone is aware hardline authoritarian tank - the star that is Lezalit states in one of his talks that if Calradia were to be conquered he would utilise the strengths of each factions troops to make an unassailable multi national and multi skilled army.

I have never employed every factions troops in one army but I have come close but I wondered had anyone else and if so how did they get on?

I tried. The Swadian knights killed everything while everybody else were trying to get to the fight.

Was worried that might be the case -

In turn the Khergits would probly get mulched by any opponent
Sarranids don't really figure in the scheme but could replace knights with Lukes - where does that leave Swadia tho ?

Even the strongest in an army has its weaknesses. Heavily armoured shock cavalry has fewer weaknesses or offsets their weaknesses better than everyone else.

I usually join a kingdom at some point, so I've never even tried. Thing is, the kingdom's various armies are balanced to deal with a each other. A mixed army will fare well against a mixed army, but if you only take the best, all you can expect is a massacre, regardless of who gets to fight first.

I find Swadian Knights are a match for Mamlukes, but Mamlukes have an advantage on wide open fields like the deserts, whereas the Swadians are less suited to direct charges and favour sustained combat, wearing the enemy line down rather than punching once, losing momentum and pulling out for another go.

I employ Vaegir archers and Nord Huscarls together, you need quite a large army though, my MB is tweaked because archers are so flail unless massed

They do pretty well, meatshield prevents melee while the marksmen murdilate everything from a distance. The axe throwing spam is quite fun too, enemy usually gets torn to shreds before even hitting the wall.
