Still waiting for Highlander to give the permission to use the Gladiator mod stuff... 
Wizzbang, I'd be glad to use those Greek items when the Greek faction is added. But that shall wait until I learn how to add new towns and factions. The reason why I have Parthians instead of Greeks is that I have no items for the Greeks to use.

The first release will be like a base for the mod, on that it will be easier to add new features etc. The same goes for Total war based things. The troops are based on RTW, but everything else is still open (still meaning that this will NOT be a 100% historical mod!). All support and ideas are welcome! 

The main things I would like to add to this mod soon are:

-Meaningful gameplay with goals:
       -Quests
       -Capturing cities
       -Capturing lords
-A custom map

As i said, i wanted to join.

Highlander did not make a majority of the Roman armor, most of it comes from Roma Invicta by Septa Scarabae. Do a search, IIRC there is a thread that tells about the use of his stuff since he isn't really around any more. Also I made a crapload of Greek equipment if you need it.

Roma Invicta items were based on RRaptors Roman items, which I am also using. I need Highlanders permission for the few Gladiator mod items I am using right now. First I will release the 0.1 version, then we'll see who's willing to do what.

How about making two separate troop tree one for the pre-marian reforms which will be available to hire when you start and one after the reforms which will be available to recruit after a certain amount of days?

And the principes are a must.

They should be,hastati in rtw and in history had a breastplate,sword and helm,principes are the heavy infantry armed with chainmail,sword,and helm
Not much difference except armor and experience...so why not use both or scrap the hastati

I'm hardcore mod ignorant, so bear with me. To be honest, before today I was only dimly aware mods even existed. That said, this one looks awesome and I'd really like to play it, but when I try to launch the game, it stops at "processing .ini file" and then crashes to the desktop with some message about not being able to load the .rgf file or something.

Any ideas?
