Wow guys...get off his case.
I think he did an incredible job, and I'm looking forward to the release.

Incredible job importing Raptor's meshes and textures to 0.892? well...ok, I wouldn't know how to do that, but I wouldn't call it incredible either..
Exactly, I dont even know how to do that.
The point is, it's not that easy, and it hasnt been too long, and there arnt many .892 mods out, so be supportive people.

Indeed, anyone who is willing to learn how to mod is welcome IMO.

Yeah me to. Even though i cant mod i would like to learn how to

Aren't elephants possible with this version?

Also, if it is not too much to ask, could you please and Triarii and Principes? They deserve a place to, you know.

They were both of great importance to the Roman Army. Just would not be the same without them.

I LOVE YOU!! (In a good way )

Seriously though, this is Freaking hawt! I've been trying to get Raptor's Roman and Gaul stuff into .892 from .731 but having no luck at all, and then this!

Need any help? I can model buildings and could try at weapons, although I can't texture.

I like the idea of a mod where you can command legions- however, I would recommend a little more detail. If you're going for the pre-marian era, I'd say implement a troop tree specific to that time. Alternatively, you could pick a later period as well, just as long as the troops remain accurate for that timeline. and I wouldn't recommend leaving out certain troop types. Even though the triarii and hastati both carried spears (before the invasion of gaul I think), The triarii were seasoned veteran soldiers as opposed to the hastati, who were little more than raw recruits and generally fought in the front ranks(and probably with inferior equipment as well).I'd say go for the Pre-marian citizen armies- It should be fun fighting with temprary levies who expect to go home to their crops after a certain time (remember the feudal levies in BfS?)

P.S can anyone tell me if the triarii continued to exist after the marian reforms? I'm a bit confused. :???:

well, I like roman mods, I'll probably play it if it's good. But it's a pity it's not gonna be accurate...I'd love to see a really accurate and in depth made roman mod...like RTR for RTW...the Punic wars sort of died off, Pelop.Wars are greek...Ceasar's conquest of Gaul could be fun. Then there could be an addon for the civil war

Same here- I would love a realistic roman mod in the same vein as TPW- historically accurate mods do require a lot of research, but are extremely fun to play.I liked gladiator, but it seems a bit rough around the edges and got a bit boring after a point.I wonder how this one will turn out.

Thanks for the feedback!

Due to public request I am adding triarii and principes before releasing. I really don't know why I had left triarii out... Triarii and principes fit well in the trooptree between hastati and legionaries.

Carthaginian and Parthian troops are WIP because at they don't have unique equipment. I have tried to get them to look as the troops in RTW using the equipment available.

If someone wants to help, I would need:

a hastati/principes helmet http://rtw.heavengames.com/rtw/info/units/hastati.jpg
Carthaginian helmet(s)

Carthaginian shields (re-textured scutum, hex shield and round shield)

and maybe some parthian equipment

At the moment I am just waiting for Highlander to give me the permission to use the Gladiator mod items so I can release 0.1 version.

If you want I could donate some of my stuff that I've been working on.

For the Romans I got some city guard cloaks, and variations to the squamata and the hamata, the variation being that they've come with cloaks  (although the scale texture for the squamata do comes from nijis' battle for Cicily mod, so I should probably find a replacement for it)

If you're planning on implanting the Greek cities, I got some thoraxes, reskins of RRaptor's gallic mail and the native lamellar cuirass

linen, leather(maybe padded is the better word for it?)

scale, maille, and two leather musclethoraxes, the latter being a little copy 'n paste work from Talon's muscle texture

also got three bronze musclethoraxes on the works, but I kinda broke down and copied them directly from rtw, which could probably lead to some sticky business that I'd prefer not to be a part of.
Which is a shame, because they really look good

Anyways, they're yours if you want them

To bad. Was planning to do this also after A Broken Realm & MountPossible. But it seems you where a little quicker, bastard (just a joke  )

I'd like to join when i finished MountPossible. I can script a bit for you.

I am very willing to help out, and you might wana see if you can get stuff from gladiator mod or older RTW mods
But...are you sure you wana base completely on RTW? (or, are you even allowed to? arnt there like copyright stuff)

How 'bout a Greek Faction as well or instead of ....Just a suggestion. I have been looking for a Greek/Roman style mod for awhile, I think I may have found it. Also there is a Greek style mod that was stopped due to Talon's wife having a baby, it was for .808 and it hadn't been released yet. Again...just a suggestion.
Thanks

EDIT: The mod is called Sharp Bronze

I absolutely can't *wait* to play this! I've been waiting for a good Rome mod for a long time.

Tell me right when it comes out!

This mod will be awesome. I am very earger to see the Romans back in the fight.

Still waiting for Highlander to give the permission to use the Gladiator mod stuff...  :???:
Wizzbang, I'd be glad to use those Greek items when the Greek faction is added. But that shall wait until I learn how to add new towns and factions. The reason why I have Parthians instead of Greeks is that I have no items for the Greeks to use.

The first release will be like a base for the mod, on that it will be easier to add new features etc. The same goes for Total war based things. The troops are based on RTW, but everything else is still open (still meaning that this will NOT be a 100% historical mod!). All support and ideas are welcome!

The main things I would like to add to this mod soon are:

-Meaningful gameplay with goals:
      -Quests
      -Capturing cities
      -Capturing lords
-A custom map
