Seems there are several requests out there to help with non-existant "export character" text files.  But so far i've seen two answered, one being the person figuring it out on his own and the other not really making a solution.

Now, to what my tech problem is:

Right now i'm using a vista comp and i'm finding the saved games in a Vista version of "My Documents" but they are in .sav form and obviously not a text file that can be edited.  Like those before me have said, when you export a character it says "export successful" and, after checking for the text file in "CharExport" i find nothing.  Yet, when doing it a second time, it asks if i want to override the file that already exists.  Oh?  What file?  Surely the export is being successfully done but not in the CharExport folder.  Perhaps somewhere else?  Doing a search on the hard-drive, however, reveals that there is no such file.

Would love some help with this.
I'm sure other people would too.

No idea on the Vista directory structure, let alone where it would put the files.

If possible, you might want to make sure hidden/system files are included in the search.

Character Export:
Mount&Blade installation directory\CharExport
I just did a quick test to make sure it works.

The other two folders that M&B uses are:

Options and config are in:
username\AppData\Roaming\Mount&Blade

Savegames:
Documents\Mount&Blade Savegames\mod name

Alright, I've found them.

For Vista users, the CharExport profiles are located in:
C/users/username/AppData/Local/VirtualStore/Program Files/Mount&Blade/CharExport

The AppData folder, however, seems to be a hidden folder.  Archonsod's advice to search in hidden/system files and folders is crucial.

I have Vista Home Premium 32bit and the CharExport files are under the M&B installation directory.  I think it might depend on whether you install to a custom directory or not - I have it installed to a different drive, and I'm assuming you have it in the \Program Files directory.  Glad you found it.
