Wow, mods get a quicker response than item packs  :shock:

It shouldnt have many bugs, since I pretty extensively playtested it myself as I was developing it. But im not arrogant enough to say that it has no bugs, so please post any that you find, so I can go into denial. Er, I mean fix them.

Ooo, new post while I was posting - Yeah I like katanas too. Im not exactly an encyclopedia on the subject, but I think I made them look fairly decent. They should come in watered steel occasionally, and the watered steel ones have an emerald in their handles.

Also i suppose you can still assign skills when you lvl up?
 
Not really like maws... nothing from maws put into here. The death system is completely and utterly different from maws, and heroes dont die. You dont die from a stray shot, instead when you go unconscious when there are none of your troops or allied troops around it removed you from your party, and you then just manually quit, and start a new game or load back to before you died. Its kind of funny, if you have unconscious troops left with you after you died you can move them around on the map, even go into towns. But if you try to fight it crashes.

And yeah you can assign skills on levelup, the only difference is the four skills I mentioned raise as you get ranks. I always hated having to put points into those skills when I really needed all I could get in my fighting skill :smile:

edit - its a bit less "hardcore" than maws heh. You only die if your alone, your troops protect you otherwise. The heroes can save you too, as long as they didnt get knocked unconscious before you did.

how about making it possible to be captured instead of dying in some cases..  i'd think some groups would want to ransom a high ranking officer of a faction.. perhaps tie it to ranking, and have it put you massively in debt and/or knock you down a rung on the ranking system when you are ransomed
also, seems it might be wise to disable death in the training and arena fights.. seeing as how the goal is to knock the other team out, not kill them, thus the blunt weapons..

but it looks awesome as-is too...
 
I had the following error several times. Which is why I shall abandon this mod until it gets fixed as I can't do anything:

crash at training complete?... thats odd, I never crashed and I did the training a few times. I'll look into it and see whats going on.

edit - err woops :grin:, I checked my game, and it works fine, did training, saved, and completed it over and over and nothing wrong. Then I unzipped the file that I had and tried it, and it crashes. Then I remember:this is the error that I was getting last night. It was all due to my variables being screwed up, and its caused by lowering the skill lower than 0.  Apparently, I didnt update the ZIP file that I uploaded, haha. Im very sorry guys. :shock: :eek:  :mad:

Anyway, the fix will be up shortly.

I also didnt even notice that Maws mod has the bit about where everyone dies alone hahaha. Did not intend to have the name anything like maws mod. It really does fit my mod though, since you ONLY die if your alone. Sorry for any confusion THIS may have caused... maybe I should change it to "The Island - Shipwrecked" or something.
 
i was actually just wondering, since i dont know much about mods, how you launched a mod because i have downloaded it, but i dont know how to play it.
 
You just put it into your modules folder, and when you start M&B there should be a dropdown list right above "Play Mount&Blade"

And you will need to redownload it since I just uploaded the bugfix. Cant believe I didnt update my zip file...

So much for testing, I tested and found that it didnt work, fixed it, then uploaded the non working version. Go me!

Anyway, now it should be fine.
 
Argh, just caught another typo that I did. The moral of the story is, dont upload a module at night before youve looked over your code lol.

Im going to look over everything and make sure I didnt make any other stupid  typos, and upload ANOTHER bugfix. The only problem this time is it isnt correctly setting factions, but im sure I'll find more if I look good now that im fully awake :grin:

For now I went ahead and removed the download. For the four people who downloaded this bugfix, it should still work, and your savegame should still be compatible, just in case you want to play with the little bugs anyway.

edit - actually, I think im going to go ahead and add some new stuff in before posting any bugfixes, so it might NOT be compatible :grin:

edit2 - Ok, i decided to add some missions, make further changes to parties, and edit the map a bit more, so it definitely wont be compatible :grin: Just some things that I want to do, and best to do it now.
