The importance of neglected skills (persuasion, very high leadership)

Recruit
I'm in around day 400, and it's come to my attention now that I want to start a Kingdom that at least 1 of my companions should have decent persuasion skills to persuade other Monarchs of your RtR. Not knowing this, i did put in about 4 points into my own character.

I've also focused a fair amount of leadership points, but it's also become quite clear that if in my own Kingdom i'm going to have *LOTS* of troops and really need the wage reduction. I ended up using the tweakMB to decrease the tax innefficency penalty (my first and only modification to the game I hope).

I recruited 2 new companions to hopefully level them up quickly for that purpose.

Anybody have more input on this...

persuasion is a personal skill, not a party skill. You need to have it on you, not your party members

The companions use their own persuasion skill when you send them out as an emissary to other Kingdoms though.

Leadership is a must though. In the early days it's even handy. Less juggling around of your party and rushing to raid 2-3 villages a week to pay wages.
