Terry Gilliam has made a new film. You might have heard of it since it features the now dead Heath Ledger.
Dead people always create some buzz. Apparently Johnny Depp, among others, has stepped in to fill the role,
making way for some bizarre transformations of the main character - Gilliam style.

Release Date: 25 December 2009 (USA)

Anyone else interested in seeing what Gilliam has come up with?

I believe Ledger's character changes with Depp and several other actors throughout the film.

Also, I believe it was received poorly by critics.

You mean the over-paid tossers who think their opinion is worth anything? If you go around listening to people like that, you'll never learn anything.

Hey, I was simply stating a fact. Also did poorly at Cannes.

So the film has already been shown at festivals? I didn't know that, and also don't care much.
I can't use the opinions of other people. I have my own tailor made opinions that fit me perfectly

Most of Gilliam's films aren't well received at first.  The studios don't get along with him and repeatedly try to bury his work when they fear it won't do well.  Even now that his legacy is built up and some of his work is finally being appreciated, the studios still try to shaft him.

But considering how much brilliant work he's done, and having seen most of his films (I haven't seen Tideland), I definitely look forward to it.

This is the guy who directed the Monty Python films, Brazil, Twelve Monkeys, The Fisher King, Time Bandits.  Even his most spacey and least successful film, The Adventures of Baron von Munchausen, was a really good film.

I'll be seeing it.

It's Terry Gilliam, so good or bad, it will at least be interesting. And what more could you hope for?

Duly marked down on my list of 'things to look forward to'.
