Ah so perhaps tripling the numbers doesn't equate to tripling the speeds?

Guess I'll just have to wait to play it then:smile:

Yeah, im assuming its something like that.
I thought triple the speed sounded dodgy too, but i played and it was actually a lot more comfortable. I didnt notice much difference in max speed, more acceleration and turning speed.

here is our current tech tree for hireable european units:

oh, and also: this is just the HIREABLE tech tree of distinctly european units. we have hireable asiatic units, but i simply havent constructed a representation of their tech tree graphically yet

Utterly gorgeous.

And esp. pretty work on those city icons!

Quick question: do you envisage only one Mongol faction, or will there be several hordes?

It would be great if you did. Mongol vs. Mongol encounters should be great fun.

P.S. - Have you settled on your map yet? I am curious as to which cities you are thinking of including. I did some research on the economic history of the 14th C. Eastern Europe a while back, so there are a few cities I'd like to make sure you guys include, e.g. Lvov. If the Black Sea coasts & Crimea is included, I could suggest a few pointers there too.

I see you listed me as a tester. i havnt actually played it yet, i got a really old version from python, but i never got a chance to play it. And now ive been told that the version i have is heavily outdated.
from what ive read here it looks pretty cool.

...so far, that should also give you an idea of the area of the map aswell. And at the time the invasion of europe only one horde in the region existed, so there will only be one mongol faction. But don't worry, mongols weren't the only ones who used horse archers, there will be encounters with horse archers, playing as mongols.

Anything more you can tell us about the war system? And will there be an option of which faction to start with, and starting points relating to that choice?

I probably shouldn't have told dreadus to add that to the future features list. It hasn't even been a week since I started moding. Don't even think about it for early releases, it's a matter of if not when, and even then its way off.

Really nice work, great job on the icons and armour, they look fantastic.

Can't wait to see more of that map

dude, ure pretty intense with the words. nice job. thats like me and star wars lol. btw, what was so special about the mangudai anyways? ive benn playing age of empires 2, the conquerors (old game, but still one of my favorites) and the special unit of the mongols is called a mangudai, thats why it stuck out to me.
Thanks but I didn't write it, I got it from the allempires forum, btw I edited my last post to post an updated version of mongolian terms I managed to find. After some searching, I found out that the Mangudai were long range scouts, some western historians like to claim that they were some sort of elite troops or that they were a sort of Forlorn Hope, but this is simply not true.

Dreadus, nice screens, can't wait to see some Mongols. Here's some concept art incase you need help.

EDIT: Removed the links to Osprey images. Please don't post copyrighted images on this forum. -Armagan
(By the way, Great Mod! )

Here is a sneak-peek at our revamped Plate Mail and Great Helm textures.

Nice, but i'm pretty sure plate armor wasn't used in this time.
