Resolved The game settings are never saving

Users who are viewing this thread

Hello. Please help me, guys.

The game always resets the settings. Every time I launch the game, I have to start from default, change the graphics, keyboard and so on.

Talesword customer support didn't answer me. I have been searching through forums and youtube and everywhere. Please offer me a solution.

I already posted this in community forums, people are very nice and tried to help, but we tried all steps and nothing helped.

Things I tried and didn't help.

1. Reinstalling the game
2. Verifying the game files by steam
3. Never using any mods
4. Closing the game with Alt+F4
5. I have no anti virus
6. Turned windows defender off
7. All document folder with "read only" unchecked (it brings back to checked again)
8. All exe files in the game folder are running as an administrator
9. I checked the permissions, I have them all

Many files are missing, but as I said, verifying or turning off my windows defender do not help.

Some of the users told about these files

BannerlordConfig.txt -- gameplay options
BannerlordGameKeys.xml -- control bindings
engine_config.txt -- graphics and sound settings

I don't have them and nothing brings them back.

I really enjoy this game, I want to solve this.

my settings will saved, except the Resolution part always set to desktop resolution even after I change to 1920 x 1080 144hz. That means everytime I run the game, I need go to Video and manually set the resolution.

I finally fixed it.

For those who wonders what happened.

My windows decided that he wants to change my default "documents" folder to "onedrive" folder. I have no idea why he did this. I changed the location to default and it helped!

Please mark this as solved, maybe this will help others too
