The French Presidential Elections of 2017. Be polite with each other please...

This is the chaos that Napoleon was trying to save us from. Republicanism is a dangerous disease and cannot be controlled.

Macron has basically won unless he somehow gets a Filion style scandal stuck to him. Virtually every other party is saying to vote for Macron as the "better the devil that we know" type candidate. Le Pen isn't going to get any large portion of the left and the center right is going to stick to Macron. She has her base supporters which can maybe at a stretch reach 35%.

This is going to be a repeat of the 2002 elections.

Trump had a 4% polling score below Clinton.

Macron has a 20% polling score above Le Pen. This is not the same as America, it's proportional representation so it can't be cheated.

I'm not very optimistic for the future - the highway from Morocco to Paris won't be demolished under Macron, and I suspect he'll take action against Assad.

4%? maybe in revisionist history polling trump was polling 4% under clinton.

No.

Throughout most of the campaign Clinton polled higher than Trump. The rift deepened after the debates and the only reason trump recovered was the timely intervention of Comely.

Is the BBC revisionist media now?

Actually do not answer that question it is a metaphorical question I don't want to be washed with literal verbal diarrhoea about "THA MAINSTREAM MEDIUUU!!!!".

I'm actually descended from a long line of future revisionists and I take offense to your wildly unwarranted comment.

Do not bunch us with those past and present revisionists they do not understand the beauty and the art of revisionism like future revisionists do

using the word revisionist to talk about **** that happened less than a year ago is silly

If you revise something that's what the words is for. Doesn't matter if it was yesterday or a thousand years ago numb nuts.

I'm not saying trump was ever ahead in the polls, I'm saying the polls had clinton winning by anywhere from 70-90% leading up to election night, and even on election night. Not anywhere close to just a 4% lead.

Here is just one from before the election. I couldn't find it but I remember a screen shot that had all the "polling" numbers cut together and posted.

Trump Vs Hilary was the first election I voted in, and if you ever turned on the news for the lead up all you ever heard about was how far hilary was ahead in the polls and how she was going to rekt donald.

Before it became a special snowflake buzzword for "opinions that trigger me", revisionism refers to a form of historical analysis where previously assumed theories are scrapped if found to be incorrect.

I mean who didn't? Just ask Trump.

I understand both choice were bad but voting for Trump, really?
Trump doesn't care about America, he care about money and himself and maybe one day ****ing his daughter.
American politics are ****ed up.

Chances of winning re not the same as margin of victory. Nobody ever said Clinton would beat Trump by 70-90% in total votes. Yes, they all strongly predicted her victory, maybe a landslide in electors, but not in total votes.

And you may kindly remember that Clinton did win the popular vote as everyone predicted.

Since France doesn't have states or electors or the winner-takes-all electors method, the only thing that matters is the popular vote and Macron is leading by a huge margin in that.
