Lets just resolve the whole thing by actually using renewables. If Lesotho can do it then how hard can it be?

Lol at how practically every African country is orders of magnitude more sustainable than the UK and US. I was under the impression that 'murikka relied on geothermal and dams a lot more than coal.

I mean DRC Congo is barely even a country and they still have something like 99% renewable energy.

The reports linking fracking to earthquakes are real, and one of my close friends actually researches this topic quite heavily, particularly in Oklahoma where there used to be no earthquakes but suddenly there are many. With that being said, the amount of damage caused by chemicals and earthquakes vs. the economic benefits gained by fracking is a comparison that should be taken into account as well.

Regardless, there's a lot of oil in the ground, and it's unlikely most countries will run out soon, especially not Russia. Best case scenario is that renewables become so efficient that fossil fuels become a niche product for select uses rather than possessing the ubiquity it has now, and that would bring Russia down. Alternatively, Canada and the United States decide to ignore climate change and keep drilling deep, lowering the price of oil and ruining Russia's economy.

Basically, if Russia's economy will be damaged due to oil, it will be because there will be too much of it rather than not enough.

Ya Africa doesn't experience consumption spikes during the winter. Also in the DRC:

Only 6% of the country has access to electricity.
Yet Iacob has a point because the country houses the most extensive river system in Africa and they have definitely exploited that fact for the better.
But they could and need to do a lot more even if they are plagued by cross-border rebels. Warning

If I have to hear that meme one more goddamn time I'm going to dropkick someone.

Ah, I had hoped it would be you who would reply to that, Joe. There is no one I'd like to dropkick more. Come to Washington DC tomorrow afternoon if you want an ass-beating.

If you lay a finger on BDSM Joseph I will punch you five times before I even hit the ground.

When Hungary sends their tanks, they're not sending their best. They're not sending Nimród. They're not sending Zrínyi. They're sending tanks that have lots of problems, and they're bringing those problems with us. They're bringing Csaba. They're bringing Toldi. They're not groß. And some, I assume, are Turán.

Quick, someone find that video of Jah-kub jumping and punching.

I think it's also worth noting that climate change is already causing an "arctic boom" that is to say an increase of shipping and exploitation of resources up there. It might even benefit Russia in some way.

but isn't fracking very destructive?
I've heard it's caused earthquakes/destabalised areas in a ground-sturdiness sense.

I've also hear that chemicals used have occaisionally leaked into a settlements water supply.

And i've also heard people who say these things called conspiracy theorists. I've honestly no idea who to believe regarding fracking.

It's hard to say. A lot of money on both sides and enviormentalists have a tendceny to cry wolf and coperations will sweep **** under the rug.
