It would be nice that the faith choice be meaning something more than just different faith troops. And the faith troops should have some area effects on homeland soldiers around them, because they are supposed to represent whatever the homeland people worship. What I have in mind is like this:
The One = homeland soldiers around faith troops get strength bonus
Old Gods = ...life bonus/slow regeneration
The Void = ...damage bonus/agility bonus
Enlightenment = ...speed bonus/Proficiency bonus
Natural Philosophy = Ability to use artillery in battle...or something not so complicated...
Just some ramdon ideas. Sorry for bad English.
