The European Union

I'm starting this thread to know about your opinions on the European Union.
Does it have a long term future?
Do you consider it, like I do, an unprecedented phenomenon in human history and, despite its obvious flaws, an example to the world?
What do you want for its future?
Should Turkey be allowed into the EU? (me: yes, definitely)
What other countries should enter it? In the middle to long term future, should we accept countries as Morocco, Ucraine, Armenia, Georgia, Israel (while yet again changing our name, of course)?

Hello countryman, The European Union is the perfect example of political-consious growth. We have had so many wars and misery in our history that eventually we learned that working together is the best way to ensure a bright future for everione, and the UE  is definitely an Example worth follow.(Basically commerce and good relations will solve a lot more problems than war)
Should Turkey be made part of the Union? Of course! The more coutries the better! (then we could change the name for 'world union' or something like that)
Such unions are good, because nobody with a sane mind would prefer war to what we have now in the UE. But it is allways a hard transition when there is a lot of ethnic and cultural variety, there is allways someone prefering the old ways, the cultural pride is often shown with agressivity instead of friendship.
But i believe, with time, everibody will come to their wright mind and choose to share culture and good relations for the good of the future of our world, its just a question of time.

The is a benefit but can be exploited.
The EU can be an exampple of co operation and trade benefits
The future? To attempt to place diplomacy in all countries
Turkey... I'm not sure. The benefits for all countries and businesses out weigh the cons, but it will mean we need tighter immigration laws to ensure our jobs are not completely taken.
Not sure about the other countries. Maybe all of Europe?

Ah, but then you get to the debate of whether Turkey is in Europe. Istanbul sure is, but does that classify all of Turkey as "European"?

Most don't, actually. Alot of them opt to replace Swastikas with the Iron Cross, for political correctness.

Even if they aren't European? I mean, are they looking to expand Europe or what? Makes no sense to add non-european countries to the EUROPEAN Union.
