I'm fairly sick of Central Europe and its conservative peasants voting for authoritarian nationalist assholes. Luckily there is precariously left-leaning Slovenia, but nationalist neighbors tend to help home nationalists.
The alternative to Orbán is to vote for the ex-commies, who gave the order to shoot at people in one of our biggest public holidays (which is about the '56 revolution), or to vote for Jobbik, who are your typical clueless, dumb****, loudmouth pocket fascists. Yay, democracy!
Basically this. The reality in Poland is that alternative to authoritarian nationalist assholes is either ex-commieland dinosaurs or young, naive idealists backseated by ex-commieland dinosaurs. And PO, which whole program was 'we're not PiS' and that was enough for couple of elections, before people got bored and outright refused to attend last time.

For once Dystopian is right. This is why you want a multi-party system and you must encourage it at every opportunity.

Thankfully we will drop this gay multi-whatever system and exchange it for one-and-only-glorious-Poland-party system.

Biggest problem I have with PiS is not even that they're abusing the **** out of system, it's that they're creating tools and precedence which won't be used by their successors only if next elections will be won by automata set to 'fix Poland'.

What's going on in Germany? Is Merkel going down?
Also lmao at the parliamentarism apologists, in this degenerate system the formation of a government is up to a few party chairpersons to decide??

Well, something happened. They decided to try the big coalition again.
Which means that nothing is gonna happen in terms of anything SPD and CDU promise.

It always starts with something small. That is indeed big.

Also in EU news, the Commission is starting a pilot program to reinforce youth integration with €12 million, by sending free Interrail cards to youth turning 18. I have to say, it's a splendid idea. I always wanted to do the Interrail thing but couldn't afford it back in the day.

Yeah it's limited at first, but eventual goal is to give a free Interrail 30-day pass to every EU teenager when they turn 18. Not a bad idea to promote cultural exchange between various European countries. Now if people would actually use them...
