Completely agree...many features are still lacking , but this is the one I've fantasized most.
Having this sort of scene simulating an estates-general/cortes with our companions and members of our kingdom's clans would be awesome, and a golden opportunity to make companions more useful, adding an interesting way to pull the strings for your kingdom instead of just beheading your rivals.
