The Drunks' Guild

I'm a sucker for Bacardi personally. Razz doesn't taste like alcohol and goes down easy. Either that or vodka. Not a fan of much anything else.

Had the displeasure of drinking Minttu with coke last night as it was the smallest bottle I had lying around which would fit in my pocket. The only condition in which that liqueur is fine is when its been sitting in the freezer for at least an hour and has turned into this semi-frozen state where it's not quite as fluid anymore. Needless to say I couldn't even finish half the bottle and spent the night pretty much sober.  :iamamoron:

One of the things I like about downing cold lagers is the way it smarts the throat. Although, that is the case with most drinks whether they be alcoholic, fizzy, cold or hot.

 Not everything works with ice, though (BTW, what I meant by the second sentence is that I like all kinds of liquids that smart the throat.)

people throw all these claims about some alcoholic drinks not causing hangovers or even different drinks having different types of 'highs'. is there any truth behind these? Aren't they all the same alcohol molecule? Apart from some having more alcohol or water is there really any deep difference in the effects?

I've never bought into that, but I think the amount of water in a drink (or between drinks) is probably the  important factor.

I think a lot of it is psychosomatic, if you've always been told whiskey gets you angry, or tequila makes you crazy, you kind of start to believe it.

The only thing I know that actually matters as far as hangovers go is the sugar content in the beverage you're drinking - stuff like cheap wine will give you a massive headache afterwards because of the sugar that's added during the production to ease the fermentation.

I'm faily sure there are differences of drunkenness based on what you drink, but I never drank stuff in a scientific way, so don't expect an essay on the subject from me.

Might be from the grain/fruit/starch that is used to make it, as the components, obviously, are never fermented down to 100% alcohol. Except for moonshine or something maybe idk

Yeah, cheap drinks definitely have a worse hangover due to the sugar content, I can vouch for that myself :iamamoron:
Otherwise, I suppose there could be a slight difference in the "high" due to the different grain/starch fermented, but I just don't see it as being as big as people say it is. Or maybe I'm just drunk
