The day they rose up against google...

Big deal. If someone wants to case my house, they won't have much trouble just walking up to it and looking around after dark. Google street view is hardly going to help much, except provide a slightly elevated view of my house's front wall.

As for invasion of privacy, they blank faces and, for some reason, numberplates. It's hardly a big deal.

If you saw some complete randomer just taking photos of your house you would go and confront them. Why should it be any different with a corporation?

Because i don't stare out my front window 24/7 waiting for someone to take a picture. they can do that when i sleep etc.

Last I recall, it was legal for me to look at someone's house while walking down the street.

If you dare walk down the street without averting your eye's of my house, i'll come after you with a rusty spoon!

Or maybe an internet petition.

Mebbe they were having an orgy at one of the windows, and they don't want their spouses to find out, so they're covering it up with this silly "invasion of privacy" nonsense.

Streets public property. Pretty sure I can go and take a picture of your house whether you like it or not.

Their faces'd be blanked.

The street is, but the houses are private property, at least in the UK.

Not that it matters, since despite technically having no laws against photographing anything not marked as MOD property the police will happily confiscate your camera if they don't like you taking pictures. It's under the anti-terrorism laws, whereby they only have to state they believe your behaviour is related to a (potential) terrorist act in order to stop you doing it and remove anything you're carrying which could be used in said act.

Though it is Milton Keynes we're talking about here, the only place in the country which manages to look worse than Birmingham.

Somehow I don't think their spouses would be fooled, seeing as how the orgy was in their own house. Plus, they might be able to identify certain other parts of the body besides the face...

These are the sort of people who would have protested against aerial photography, and most probably OS maps too.

How dare you ****ers look at my roof, i've lived here 5 years and I haven't seen my roof! By the way can someone tell me if my guttering needs a clean

My guess is all those folks who have something to hide in the backyard.  Several grave mounds/dope crops/compo claims will be the ones complaining.

Recently found out my place is not visable, i can only assume because there is army and a navy bases here?

The protesters are obviously terrorists, trying to hide their miniature nuclear weapon plants. What other explanation could their be?

The "blurring" they use for Google Street view is absoltuely crap, even with normal blurring you can still identify peopel from other pictures by using their clotihng and the shape of the rest of their body. The google blurring isn't very good at all, I can esily make out certain facial features.
