the best confrgure

Can anyone tell me the best setting i can use to make sure my game run smooth and make it stop showing unreadable letter?

p.s i used to use the right one and have no problem but after a new install i forget what confrgure that i use.
please help

since no one is helping me i've been messing with m&b and here what i came with for people who have out of date vga like me:
_dont tick anything in the list
_texture detail=10 (the lowest)
_frame rate=100 (didnt change this.hav no idea what it do)
_resolution=640*480 32bit (16bit might be better)
_antialiasing=off (cant change it not sure why)
_shadow quality=low
_render method directx7

In the configure screen there's a % rating of performance. The higher that is, the faster the game will be. The lower it is, the better the game will look. Try fiddling with the graphics options till you get something you're happy with. Also, the DX7 render will perform better than the DX9 one.
