The 'Battle of Waterloo' event was inspired when I noticed a thread posted by Mack (Colonel of the 4e) who was thinking of making a Waterloo Campaign. I was motivated by this and figured well if the EU community can have one, why can't the NA community? So this Waterloo event will set out to recreate the Battle of Waterloo, however, to a reasonable and fair aspect. The event will include the following:
- An as historically-possible-based Waterloo map
- Teams will consists of:
> 4 Infantry Regiments (Each)
> 1 Cavalry Regiment (Each)
> 1 Artillery Regiment ((Each(Both allotted 2 cannons))
- Appointed General for each faction (NOTE: this is not final and is still be debated)
- Should take place within the first week of August
- Servers will be provided by the NEC, hosted by Bluefang Solutions.
As an invitation-only event, no applications will be opened unless any of the regiments invited decide not to join or are unable to make it. This event is set to take place in the first week of August. The day is not yet known, though Saturday is a likely candidate. It will take place at 8 p.m. EST (5 p.m. PST). We will play 10 rounds on the provided Waterloo map, if it results in a tie, we will hold a tiebreaker round.
The following will be the rules for each unit class:
Infantry:
> Must be in line to fire
> Make sure you address gaps
> Up to half-a-man spacing is allowed, no more
> Firing out of line is NOT allowed
> Firing on the charge is NOT permitted
> Crouching is only allowed if in double ranks
> Must have at least one colour bearer (British regiments may choose to bring both the King's and Regiment's colours)
> If your line reaches 3 remaining men, you must charge or join another line
Skirmishers:
> Allowed up to 4-man spacing
> May use nature and surroundings as cover
> Can legally crouch
> If the unit reaches 3 remaining men, charge or join another unit
Cavalry:
> If Dragoons, firing is only allowed once in a line and while stationary
> If your unit falls below 3 people, dismount and join a friendly line, or charge.
> Bringing a hornist/trumpeter is recommended, adds to the realism and I think they're awesome
Artillery:
> Each artillery unit is allotted 5 men
> Can only have 2 trains of either howitzer or cannon (Not 2 of each, either/or)
> Cannon guards will not be allowed, sadly, we simply we have enough room in the server (Wish it was still 250
