Arch3r, are you still trying to put together a map? Have you thought about using the Battle for Wesnoth map editor?

Also, do you still have my items and everything I sent you? If you don't I'll have to hook up my old laptop to an external screen and get them...
 
Just wondering where this is going, could you update the first post and was looking at the final message on that post Experienced HTML Web designer, this I thought was a little odd, as from the sound of it you will need more than html, and you have HULKSMASH down.
Realistically, you will need:
a mysql database
HTML - Information for the page
CSS - Setting up the stylesheet for the page
PHP - To call all the information from the datebase and insert data.

Possible others
AS 2.0 or 3.0 - Creating a visual overview to give dynamic information called in from xml or php from the database.

I was also wondering what the possiblities of connecting mod to a database, though not sure on how python would connect to the database, still one the things I plan to explore for a mod called Sewerjack which I am planning.

This seem the most important things to me, would love to see how the website is doing and where its going.
 
CFR (see the poster above, TW name mr wabbit) has been assigned to do the website coding. He will make a customized website, including signing up for both clans and members and the whole map system. Having him in the team is great, as we can finally get some progress with the map system and other features. Any volunteers on the visual side of the website are welcome, I will also make some custom art for it and there will be a Concept Art section for clans.
 
Thanks to Arch3r for being fast to reply to be and within the last hour I have managed to program the startings for the map.

I have now received Temuzu's initial map without details and so will begin the array construction. I have used the colours and layouts given to me by Arch3r.

The current version shows the 6 basic tiles. This has been asked to expand to more textured tiles if anyone has ideas please say

50 mins later of programming we have moved on further

Array for the map created, creation of the map can be done tiles can be changed dynamically so new tiles will be added at a later date. Also add background programming for leaders which states mountains and water are not excess-able for movement.

To come:
The grids lines
Item overlays, ie trees ect.

All feedback is welcome along with ideas.

15 mins more work

Another update, the grid cut lines are now added these are set to appear only to the area of the map and can be toggled on and off to personal preference. All graphics are basic atm and will be improved once the programming has completed.

Next task:
Breakfast/lunch
Adding of the full map to its current state and work on scrolling across the map and the ability to zoom in and out so you can see more or less of the mapAll feedback is welcome along with ideas.

I have started putting the map together got 720 of the 2232 numbers that make up the underlay of the map inputted will be off in 10 to see friends and work on Fantasian Models. I have uploaded the current version to check out (ie where Im up to).

Obviously when someone else than CoR also has a faction and when we have a basic campaign system...
 
will be a small delay my end, I forgot my power cable for my macbook and will be out till monday, so map development will continue then in the mean time, I have my pc and will work on modelling for the Fantasians.
 
Well its an update.

Its been a heavy weekend and lots to do, I will be busy most of the next few days though I will spend all the time I can working on the mod. This post is after an hour and half of working, its 1.30 am and up in 4 1/2 hours time.

The map -  Ok, so where have a gotten over the weekend, well last time I posted I was on v2 which used an array to create the tiles, since I am now on v4 which I have not uploaded yet do to a small bug I hope to fix tomorrow while more awake, basically the system has been remodeled largely to allow for easier database interaction, this should then enable me to program movement much more easily, with the array also being much small from 2332 data points to around 1150, also the start of an external array has begun, this will then enable admins of the site to change the map, hoping to expand this to adding of new terrain types. Overall a lot of work, though visually nothing new so far.

Fantasia/ Pi -  After teaching 3/4 other Pi members modeling and scene making, we have begun work on the realm of fantasia.
1/4 classes is close to completion
1/4 partial completion
2/4 planning completed though work to begin

We have also started work on 2 scenes.
1 - Outpost, Do to the large demand of furs within the realm of Fantania we have a large need for furs and so outposts are set up, the most famous being located on the edge of the forest of measles, (more in the background).

2 - Test scene -  This scene is unlikely to be used as yet, but is more an experimentation of what is possible within scene creation, this bazaar map is more likily to appear within the fantasia mod.

Models, well this could so on but the best item will me names, the horsemen's helmet :smile:

A quick note, we are always looking more players to help out with tBfC mod, if interested please feel free to post or mail me or Arch3r.
Also Pi, is also happy to teach model making, texturing and scene creation to anyone interested. Just send me a mail :smile:

Oh and Im also looking for a graphic designer to join me for website creation, I would rather not do both myself as I and Im sure others will agree would like to see us move forward, I will draw up designs and colour schemes with pixel ratio's ect.

Hope someone reads this and feels inspired to help out :grin:

Wow, I really do feel like only me and Arch3r seem to be pushing this forward, come on guys would be nice to have some extra hands on the scene.

Anyway latest update!

After some major changes, I have finally fixed the map I will upload a new version once I have fixed the tiles on it as the display layout has been changed so the maps layout is a little wrong but other than that I seem to have a fully working map again.

Rendering method changes | 0 = invisible tile | 1+ = line number on array
Method 1 =
[1,0,1,0,1,0,1,0]
[0,2,0,2,0,2,0,2]

Method 2 =
[1,1,1,1]
[2,2,2,2]

Method 3 =
[1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,]

Method 2 would have been the nicest method but also the less reliable method and often bugged up, so method 3 is a new being used, the only issue will be how easily will it be to program the database to connect to this system in terms of movement. Well we will find out!

The Fantasian Faction is on the move forward.
With the hope to have finish 1/4 playable units later this week as well as finishing the weapons sets for most the units.
Images will be released soon, once texturing has been completed.

Other than that more people would be great.

I could also really do with someone who would be happy to decode something for me just requires looking at a map and right the numbers that correspond to the terrain types. Ie numbers 1-6. Really Simple and I will provide the map and diagrams to show what Im after, the job will most likely take an hour or 2 to complete but would save me the time so I can crack on with this.

I hope to see lots of eger people to help all the team develop further, also busy is not an excuse, we are all very busy ourselves. I myself have 2 jobs and a FT college course let alone extra activities I do.

I do believe that some other clans also work on their textures and the like, just don't post about it yet, as they aren't finished.

Why does one need an excuse? This is voluntarily. That's not to say that being eager isn't good, but others might have different priorities and are by all means entitled to those.
