Yes, I know I'm four days late, but I'm wondering if anyone else on TW is watching? Hopefully it won't rain tomorrow!

For those who don't know, The Ashes is the name for the most prestigous series on the cricket calendar, and it has been played for over 200 years. It involves the first two test teams in history, England and Australia.

Which do you support? Not that it matters because the ashes will be staying in Australia for a long time still.

I don't know, don't get much cricket on the news in Japan. But I heard we are giving the English a knocking on the first test.

I hit an umpire once while fielding, it was on the leg though, and he wasn't 72...and he didn't die

Anyway, it's a thrilling scamper for a draw by England at the moment, and I have to say - they are unfortunately likely to survive

EDIT: The match has ended in a draw, with England 9 wickets down.

Second test is on now, England are collapsing after an opening stand of 196,  they're currently 338/6.

They stop play to have ****ing tea. It's a middle and upper class thing, and I hate snobby people so I wouldn't watch it live and I hate watchin sport on TV (unless it's a big rugby or football game and I'm watchin it at a party thing) so I actualy care less about this than the tennis.

It's only a name, the days of upper class snobbery in cricket ended decades ago. Shaun Tait's a bogan for example and Ricky Ponting grew up in lower class Tasmania.

And the Dutch team is quality compared to most associates, Tendo is a gun.

1. i don't care
2. its boring
3. i don't care

Its possibly the most tedious boring "sport" ever. go watch a man sport like Fishing! yeah fishing!

(feel the sarcasm)

Cricket's a great sport, wish I had played more than I did during school/college... wasn't much cop with the bat, but like chucking down some wrist spin as a bit of a chinaman  Specialist fielder is probs more my part though

And that was a good start to the morning for England...

And thats the start we ****ing wanted in the field!!

Gah! Anderson up to his mischevous tricks again it seems

We can come back from this though, plenty of depth and we have a strong middle order.

Oh, and there's that other thing...we're Australia!
