I don't think you understand or are refusing to understand his point, it feels out of place. That's what he is talking about.
So far the only explanation to a Turkish name (meaning 'New Soldier' if you were interested) on an aesthetically southern European unit is simply "cause we can". Also considering the fact that they were named things like "Conquistador", which as I'm sure you all know, is a Spanish word for a conqueror.
Honestly can't call that anything other than a lame answer. If you don't want/care to answer about it any further, then fine, you don't have to, it's your mod after all, but that's just my opinion on the matter.

Well. With all things put aside, I also think that another name would feel more natural for the troop we are talking about.

Imo, it could be something more general, unrelated to any culture whatsoever, to end the debate and frustration on this matter for once and for all. A couple of names that came into my mind are: Barclay...

...Arquebusier (the most obvious and fitting name imo)
...Musketeer
...Musketman
...Guard
...Skirmisher
...Sharpshooter
...Marksman

Arquebusier definitely. If it's in line with other barclay troops - I don't play 3.9.2.

We currently have Barclay Adventurero, Heavy Soldat, Imperial Lancier and Imperial Chevalier. Barclay Arquebusier would be in line with these names imo, while it also feels natural to me. And it won't be connectable to any historical nation/culture either, which is great.

Barclay firetroops also can be,if unique names are too much.
And Eastern Roman Empire fall in 1453.Danish kingdom after accepting Christianity had soldiers with axes and armour like vikings.Eastern Roman Empire had Cataphractoi,like persian and armenian Cataphracts.And in the viking era there were weapon like crossbow,but lighter.
So?
