Clearly you don't see clearly.The argument is clear: a multiplayer only client will just piss most people off in the long run. Anyone who has to suffer such a fate, such as everyone in this beta, will be left aggravated and begging for more... but that more is hiding behind a $50 paywall, which they will gladly pay as ransom for their sanity after enduring such torment

I don't understand your whole multiplayer only thing, you get that early access will come with singleplayer and multiplayer right? It's not like the beta.

Or are you somehow suggesting that people will be pissed off that they have to choose SP or MP through the launcher, but surely that's not what you're banging on about.

smh how are you confused about this? TW has the option to make TWO clients, one free and can only access multiplayer/limited customization and the other cost $50 which includes multuplayer , full customization and singleplayer. Why would that work? Because people who are already going to buy the game, will not suffer having a limited free client and will shell out the $50 irregardless. Other people though, who just arent going to buy this game one way or another, might be enticed to downloading a free client, which could eventually result in the sale of a full client somewhere down the line. Just like the argument for cross platform, which seems is a foregone conclusion for Bannerlord, the argument for a free limited client seems to be too tempting for many developers to pass up. Me though? If you are going to try and extract anything out of the devs, might as well go with the free pony.

You arent thinking of the big picture. If everyone gets a free pony over night, the demand of services will also sky rocket overnight. with denser service areas to work with, the inevitable saturation of services that would result in the market, a highly competitive end user market would emerge, so we all get the benefit of a free pony, and a more fair and rejuvenated pony services economy

How much money they will lose from that will probably match or outweigh anyone who decides to buy SP after playing this free MP. Yes! I have considered it, and I doubt it very much, to be honest. I am the pragmatist, I do not like it but I refuse to look away. The trend seems to be everyone agrees SP is great and only some people believe MP is great. I am one of those that thinks they are both great. I sincerely have yet to see a single person who doesnt want to play SP and only wants MP

So they likely arent going to lose any money at all, from the people who already plan to buy the game. I would say its almost certain.But yes! now you are getting it. All the dirty tactics to expose an anticipated title to as many sales as possible all rolled into one, completely "free" client. it's evil yes, but would it work? probably, I dont think so many AAA developers would be doing if it didnt work. The fans all hate it though, which is proved here in this thread, hopefully. So now if TW was thinking about doing it maybe they will reconsider

We are nearing some seriously dark days for multiplayer games. Automated programs are getting harder and harder to discern from real people. It will not be long before they are impossible to detect more often than not. Leaving a paywall is a huge deterrent to bot farm trolls etc. Not to mention hackers easily coming back to servers they were banned on...

Making multiplayer free would accelerate the exposure of this game to these kinds of awful things as they continue to get worse in the industry as a whole. Do not do it.
