That, or just go to Documents, find your save file folder, and delete the contents, then load up Bannerlord. Steam will complain about cloud files being out of synch. Take the option to redownload the missing files -- which will be your save files.
Problem with that is, that steam restores the broken files. So its important to uncheck the Steam Cloud Synchro, so the game creates new files, that work.
I know that sometimes your method works, but not 4 all.
