I used to rock this Nord only archery group, was on foot with an axe and I had like 1600 archers, I rocked dem Condottieres

There's a limit to how much you can rock on foot when 300 condottieres are coming for you...
If you're alone vs 300 knights you're doing it wrong.

if your alone-99men with you vs 300 condottires your doing it wrong

Hmm its kinda weird but i cant seem to break free of my initial vassalage without talking to the king and revoking it.  I remember in the past i used to be able to break vassalage with all of my possessions when i took something, requested it, and then it got handed to someone else.  Is there a way to force that outcome, because ive been on a conquest spree and i'm not getting the option to break free.

Talk to the king? You should bugreport the "not able to break free by raging because the bully takes your castles" thing.

there are ALOT of vassal bugs, simply because xeno never plays as a vassal and in this mod its not really needed, not saying you can't but it seems like a waste of time now that i've started to just ignore the kings and just start my own kingdom without joining a different one first

300 mean horsemen?
Pft thats a good way to practice my favorite move .
Stage 1 laugh at ***** on horse.
Stage 2 step out of horses way.
Stage 3 swing hilariously over sized axe into *****'s chest.
Stage 4 look for new ***** and repeat stage 1.

Once you master this trick then horse armies are just a fun way to show off your mad dodging skills.

On a side note i had to get good couse im playing a bow master and have limited myself to bandit soldiers only apart from garison's just couse that'd take to long.

Although the axe is a back up since few horsemen who look towards me live long enough to try to charge me .

Call me old but i prefer my trusty bow and arrow to a gun .
Mostly because by the time uve reloaded ur gun ive killed 5 people with my bow .

I'm glad you're having fun in SP. As for bow, yes it's the best against unarmored troops. But once you get to fight armored elites and vaegirs you'll see it's not that fun to do 10 dmg/arrow. I use Double Flintlock, 2 deadly shots in less than 2 secs.

The way you play might be ok vs computers. But remember a real player with a lance will one-shot you all the time and you haven't got a chance.

What about Deshavi's bow? or the mourn bow? I find myself taking 2 shots to kill any troop as long as its a chest or higher shot...

Otherwise I concur. mesor, are you playing on mommy?

yeah that would work against a shoulder to shoulder WAVE of heavy cav..... you hit one of them and the other 299 are running you over and showing you how good charge damage is.

Maybe you never played against a real player. It's very easy to dodge arrows on horseback and in this particular mod I doubt you can kill the Destrier with a few shots, even with Deshavi's bow.

You can find my videos in the video section and my sig. All of them are on mommy diff of course.

The comment in "Wall of Text" said that facing 1500 with 250 can be done, it convinced me to try this mod...right now waiting for it to finish downloading...

Just out of curiosity...defeating 1500 enemy with only 250...how can it be done? That sounds insane...

use cannoneers/khergit guys with fireworks/other silly op units while behind castle walls/up on a hill

this is supposed to change with next release

Unlike vanilla, this mod makes both sides have equal units in battle at once, for example you'll have 100 units vs 100 enemy units, no more. If those 100 units you bring are elite, then you'll win quite easily.

I recommend an army with balanced infantry/cavalry/ranged units. Rhulgs for infantry, Swadian Royal Knights/Rhodok Condottieres for cavalry and rifles/cannons for ranged units.

I was under the impression the amount of units you had in relation to your opponent depended on the battle advantage, which is determined with a skill and the starting amount of troops?

Ah...I see what you mean...now quality is everything...unlike Brytenwalda, there I had to beef up my army with hundreds of cheap recruits for a fair advantage against those lords and kings with 500+ troops...I did whine about how tactics and forage skills are an absolute nonsense...I basically had to fill ALL my inventory with foods just to be able to safely siege a city without any of those random casualties from siege events, what a waste of good soldiers...

Played normal mode using condottieri class...on day three or five already captured one of the Rhodhok castle and kicking lords' asses all day long...was it luck that I managed to recruit nearly 30-40 Rhodhok Condottieri from every village I visit? I see what they said that this mod was meant to be an empire building instead of the grind to be strong...yeah, really like the new skill system...having my own head bashed most of the time in Pendor and Brytenwalda, this is like a breath of fresh air, though I think I should play mommy since normal looks easy to me...or did I in some way unintentionally exploited the game mechanics? They did mention not to lvl your character too high so I start capturing city/castle as soon as I enough soldiers...the loot and prisoners gave plenty of cash to keep my army always on the move...heroic health also helps a lot, similar to warcry effect of Brytenwalda but I don't need to activate it or no danger if I died in battle...

Just a few quick questions...inventory management is a party skill? How does that work? Do I loose the extra space if my companion got knocked out? And what are the penalties of heroic health? What are the pros and cons?

In other mods yes, but not here. As I said, there's always equal number, ofc if you have at least that amount of troops.

@arthoz
If you're a good player you should def try mommy. It's challenging and will result in a lot of hours of exciting gameplay. The more you level the bigger the armies the lords will have. They can reach >1k/lord.

Heroic health works both for you and all troops in battle, including yours, which greatly increases their resilience. You should turn it off for more challenge.

Inventory manag. is not a party skill, it's still a personal skill. You need to buff that skill yourself to make use of it.  However there are several other party skills which are extremely useful since they buff your army in combat. You need to have at least one companion full INT and one full CHA so you can max all those skills fast.

Thanks for the advise...I think I need to restart again with a few changes like you said...day 17 and I nearly wipe out the Rhodok Kingdom so I guess the setting is placed on too easy...thank for making this kind of mod...I guess this mod give more emphasis on fighting, from what I've seen so far...

Can't wait to see what else this mod have to offer...^^

To clarify for inventory management. Currently, it's a personal skill, as is prisoner management. However, xenoargh (the creator) is aware that these skills, while listed as party skills, are personal ones, and he'll fix that with the next patch. And from what I can tell, you do not lose the extra space under any circumstances.

I've been playing this game a bit, and found that the Holy Armies turned hostile for some reason. I did a search and found that they become hostile if peasants are attacked, but all the parties I've attacked were patrols, looters and undead armies. Why did they turn hostile? Is it related to renown, difficulty, class or time?

Also, is there a way of increasing relations with them other than selling my gear and exporting my character to a new game? I'm missing the massive amounts of money gained from helping Holy Armies beat Dark Armies.

Edit - I just found that the Kingdom of the Nords is now friendly with me? Is this supposed to happen as a peasant revolutionary?

There's an existing bug where the nords and the undead will never attack eachother, as if they're in the same faction. My guess is that, due to your alliance with the nords, you are therefore allied with the undead and enemies of the holy armies.
