About​

The 10ème Régiment d'Infanterie Légère is a North American infantry regiment, representing the Carabiniers of the 10ème Régiment d'Infanterie Légère. We aim to become one of the best skirmish regiments on the field of battle, using our superior tactics, communication, marksmanship, and ability to tear the enemy force apart.  While we use tactics and expect utmost maturity during events we are still quite a relaxed regiment. We expect to have fun and play the game, not to be stifled with trivial intra-regimental rules. That being said our members are expected to hold a high level of self control.

Carabiniers​

Carabiniers, as with Grenadiers in line infantry, were elite troops. As for their appearance it was stipulated that they must present a formidable sight, with moustaches, red epaulettes and tall fur caps. The epaulettes broadened their shoulders and the tall bearskins, or shakos with tall plumes, made them look taller. During the Revolutionary wars and in the first campaigns of the Napoleonic Wars the carabiniers distinguished themselves with red pompons attached to their bicorn hats and red epaulettes. Some wore the tall fur caps. The carabiniers were taller and stronger than the fusiliers, chasseurs and voltigeurs. For example the official minimum height for carabinier was 5'4" (French), or 173.5 cm. For the voltigeur 4'11" (French), or 159.9 cm, was enough. The carabiniers were brave men selected from the veterans. According to de Segur the old-timers could easily be recognized "by their martial air. Nothing could shake them. They had no other memories, no other future, except warfare. They never spoke of anything else. Their officers were either worthy of them or became it. For to exert one's rank over such men one had to be able to show them one's wounds and cite oneself as an example."

Enlisted Ranks in English. The enlisted, and the cadets, are the main force of every regiment. They are the backbone the regiment, and make up the majority the line.. These members are given basic responsibilities along with the possibility of advancement.

Sous-officiers​

The equivalent of non-commissioned officers, sous-officiers are a step above the common ranks of the regiment, providing discipline and order in the line.They are good leaders, loyal, and have shown merit in their actions. They are well on their way to becoming officers.

The leaders of the regiment, they are charged with numerous tasks, including training the regiment, providing general oversight, and not to mention leading the regiment through battle.

Recruitment​

We are currently recruiting!  We are looking for new players, and veterans alike.  However, there are a number factors which may influence whether or not an applicant will be accepted.  We are rather relaxed in Teamspeak, however our members are expected to show a certain amount of maturity and self-control in game, and any disturbances will be swiftly dealt with.  Activity is also an important factor, prolonged inactivity without prior notice will result in removal.  Of course, real life comes first, so simply notifying an officer of your expected absence, will suffice.
