Terrain on the battlefield

I have not seen this topic anywhere around here, but if it has been discussed already, i want to remind.
Terrain is too bland. THere are always hills and mountains to enclose the battlefield. I think that the battlefield should reflect the terrain on the campaign map. Other games like RTW have done this, and i think that this game is better, and should try to incorporate it also. It is a great feature that many want to see happen, and making the battlefields larger would help with allowing larger armies, In other words more fun. Just my opinion.

Another problem i am having is equipping Marnid with units. How do i do that. SOMEONE PLEASE HELPPPPPPPPPPP

The battlefield engine could use a lot of improvement, indeed. You do get bored of hills pretty fast.. To really make the terrain interesting and diverse would take a lot of work, I think. It will be interesting to see the next version of the game..

It doesn't really bother me that there are so many hills. Just imagine you're in some area like Richmond, which is pretty hilly.

The thing that bothers me most is those battle maps full of very stepy hills. The AI has some problems dealing with it, and some units get stuck.
And if it has a river on it it gets even worse.
I think it would be better (and more realistic) if the battle maps were more flat.

I know terrain has been discussed before, and hopefully there will be changes on the next update, but i wanted to state my opinion anyway.

It would be my guess that the terrain at the moment is generated randomly through a series of variables. Likely these, among other things decide the maximum height of hills. I could of course be horribly wrong in this assumption, but if these variables can be edited it should not be a major issue to flatten the battlefield, or even make it hillier, so to speak.

I know little of what I speak of now though, sadly, and it is quite possible that I'm way off when speaking of how the terrain is generated. However I would appreiciate if someone told me how it was done.

I don't mind very steep hills here and there, but I get annoyed when the terrain looks kinda impossible; a whole bunch of huge, steep hills next to each other look very strange. In short, more realistic terrain would rock, but I suspect it wouldn't be very simple to think up an algoritm to generate it.

Actually, Calradia could have had an extremely active seismic history, as this would account fir it being surrounded by mountains and rivers. An earthquake could easily create hills like this, and if there are many now dormant volcanoes near the area this kind of terrain is possible.
