I dont know if anyone here is working on this; Im just throwing ideas around. Im no modder; I know next to nothing about it, and even if I did, I have little time to dedicate to creating a mod. However, I was wondering if anyone had thought of this.

An Elder Scrolls: Tamriel mod. There wouldn't be any sort of commitment to lore, since anyway in M&B the point is all out war.

- Factions representing each of the races in the ES universe, and having their kingdoms correspond in the map as well.

- Lore type rivalries at the beginning of the game (for example, at the beginning, Skyrim and Morrowind are at war)

- Armor and weapons designed not just from what we have seen in the games, but also stuff from concept art and the like. To fill the game with more fantasy like armor and weapons, maybe somebody can lend some textures and designs.

- Dungeons: it'd be cool if it could be integrated a dungeon crawling sort of scenarios in different parts of the game, like caves or ruins in the map. I remember a mod once that played like a third person adventure game, so something like that could be incorporated.

- Maybe implement a couple of quest paths with rewards, including rare items like Dwemer armor (maybe incorporate dungeons in such quests, and daedric quests)

- Dangerous and renegade daedric worshippers patrolling the map (with Atronachs!)

- Add mages and fighters guilds to cities, where you can buy spells, atronachs, and ingredients to boost stats (mage), or hire mercenaries, buy weapons, armor, horses, and books that increase fighting stats (fighter)

- Dwemer ghosts patrolling the Morrowind area. Dangerous to fight, but with big rewards.

- Magic spells and a magicka weapon skill.

- Lore oriented companions.

Any other ideas? It can maybe be called Empire at War, since its everyone against evryone lol

What I think the problem is, is that many of the creatures you fight in Oblivion are far from human shape and could not be implemented into the game, also all the special effects like glowing swords and such are not easily made. The closest thing you will get I believe, would be the music from Oblivion's title screen in my mod's title screen

What I mean is the creatures would need completely different animations for their attack moves (eg leaping).

I one times tried to make a Oblivion mod but it got as far as me making the folder and saying "Now what the hell do i do?"

It is better just to play the game, better graphics, better gameplay and much more fun, then making a mod about oblivion , then play it.

Who said anything about creatures? Im talking about an all out war between all the Tamriel races, not between ogres, goblins and cliff raiders!

Also, glowing weapons shouldnt be that hard. People make lightsabers for this game, and they are nothing BUT glow.

Simply it would be cool to play all the nations against each other: redguards versus bretons, dunmer versus nords...

Im sure the idea has come up before, but probably people started brainstorming irrelevant things that took away from the spirit of Mount & Blade. Everything Ive proposed Ive seen in one way or another in other mods (like glowing swords and spells).

The lightsaber is a result of hours, upon hours of work. It's harder than it looks.

what isn't the result of hours of work mods just dont put themselfs together ya know  but getting back to the subject yes i have thought about doing an eldar scrolls mods but one thing stops me.. the world is damn boring i never got stuck into the eldar scrolls world and i been playing them since Arena and there all the same, the background story to eldar scrolls is bleak boring and is hard to follow because everyones name usually consists of the entire alphabet. Personaly im not into mushroom looking buildings like they had done in morrowind or boring storys like close shut the jaws of oblivion far as im concerned the king can plug his own hole.. oblivion is an over rated game with a **** combat and casting system the only thing that was any good about it was the graphics but there so old now so there is nothing special bout it anymore.. but enough of me bagging it out it does have a few good points mainly its a cheap buy now at the bargain bins  Now if you said you wanted to do a dragon age origins mod i say **** YEAH!

I shouldnt have said glowing weapons wasnt hard: its just not impossible.

I want to make clear that not making a mod because "you can just buy the game and play the original" is completely stupid and not at all the purpose of modding. There are star wars mods, lord of the rings mods, cowboy western mods...theres something for everyone that wants to give a different spin to a game. Thats what modding is for.

The guy above me...you got no credibility since your whole paragraph is a sentence. Just because you downloaded Arena doesnt mean youve been an Elder Scrolls fan "since" Arena; a RPG gamer that was around since Arena came out wouldnt be all fan boy like that.

Elder Scrolls has one of the most interesting settings in computer RPG history. Its ripe with interesting content for further development; unlike most fantasy literature that goes beyond 15 published books >_> Anyone that says theres no material to make an ES mod doesnt know what he is talking about.

Most of it is possible, and someone was making a mod based on TES IV on Exilian. The problem is the large amount of scene editing you'd need to do in order for it to be relatively successful. And all of the coding, the rigging, the scene editing, the texturing, the modelling, the mapping, the solving of problems takes many hours of work. A bit of it possible, but hard and will take a long time. It's certainly harder than it looks, I never got into the hang of coding and stuck to simple (i.e. bad/mediocre quality) modelling and retexturing/texturing.

Lol i been playing these games since you were swimming in your daddies balls.
And so what because im not an english teacher i have no credibility LOL not my fault eldar scrolls is a bland world.
Did i hurt your feelings bagging out eldar scrolls i have played every version from Arena, Daggerfall, Morrowind and Oblivion and they all feel the same like its a fake fantasy world the only eldar scrolls i liked was Daggerfall. Oh and btw you haven't played many RPG games if you think eldarscrolls has a good combat and magic system.

Keep your opinions to yourself, everyone has their own tastes for games. I like oblivion, it suits me very fine.

Geez i thought thats what forums where for if i can't voice an opinion where's the freedom in that.. The guy asked if anyone thought of doing a elderscrolls mod i replied and then get some smart arse remark to quote!

This remark is uncalled for i wasn't being nasty to melkor i was just saying an eldar scrolls mod would be boring but since you want to stoop to name calling because you got all cut up about what i said well thats your problem..

Its a public forum if you dont want people to have an opinion of what you have to say i suggest going and having a private chat with someone.

The hardest part imho would be that one of the races focus almost entirely on magic, which really is hard or impossible to implement in a way that makes it keep the realistic touch and still have balance.

Go on then, go do it. Go create what seems to the rest of us, a fairly generic fantasy world. I'm we'll all wish you luck

Also, this is why we have the mod ideas thread..

These things truly do go in circles..

I am currently doing a mod an Ultima world mod, i did think bout doing an eldar scrolls mod as i said earlier,  i just dont like the story behind the series is boring specialy when you have a king named after a part of the Nose! Septum means any partition between cavities e.g  the part of skin between the Nostrils..
It always made me laugh that  the eldar scrolls had king was named Septum maybe thats why they killed him in oblivion.

Dont get me wrong eldar scrolls has some good concepts and i do like the game but i wouldn't want to make a mod for this game considering i get bored playing the original Oblivion fast.

Anyways each to there own good luck getting an eldar scrolls mod made i can appreciate anyones hard work if they are willing to make this mod it wont be an easy task.
