talk to the village elder/guildmaster in the menu

i wanted to play the game again and want to tweak some things again.
i want to do his again but its not working instead it makes all thief to become un-owned
i have looked further and found this
but i dont have the module stuf and cant figure out how to make it work.
can anybody update the previous one or give me some other help?

There are several simple changes you can make without adding/learning the module system, described in the topic "82 Tweaks..." at the top of the sticky topics in the Mount&Blade Discussion forum section.  I'm not positive, but I believe that adding the village elder, smith, and quartermaster are included in one of the posts.  That little change is used in several mods, so it's probably well documented SOMEWHERE, and just a matter of figuring out where you can get the info at this late stage.
