Talk Box

Hey guys,Does anyone have a talkbox? I was just wondering because I recently picked one up and I'm loving it.I need some pointers or tips about how to make words easier to understand when using it.I'm using the talkbox with an old D-10 keyboard.

careful you don't crack a tooth, I've heard those things can be rough on such things, I'd imagine the low notes particularly. The guitarist for one of my friends band uses one, but honestly, Peter Frampton is the only guy I've ever heard that could actually make anything resembling intelligible words come out of it. Almost everyone else I've heard use it, from my friend to Joe Walsh (Rocky Mountain Way) uses it more to get more of a wah-wah/envelope filter type of sound, or just to add a weird effect. And with Frampton I think the only reason why his words are intelligible is because I already know what words they're supposed to be. If I were you, I'd poke around the nets a bit, I'm sure there's a dedicated talk box forum out there somewhere that could give you a better answer.
