I think of their team only so many actually can code the 'important stuff' so you probably have the sheep guy and the hair cut guy and other people working on these auxiliary things and when they finish something it gets put in. Of course I don't know. I'd be mad if the perk team took a break to make a sheep model
And yet with no updates to perks in 1.5.2... and the idea that anything that has been worked on would have been released, it leaves one to wonder. I felt like August was such a great month for TW and for BL. There were some pretty solid improvements, especially diplomacy, and I was one of their biggest "white knights" as @MostBlunted liked to call it.

However, here we are half way through September, and I can't find evidence of anything worthwhile so far this month. We were told to expect the mod tools at the end of August, and here we are half way through September, and TW hasn't give anyone a single update on this, despite many, many inquiries. Supposedly a new community manager was hired to help manage the forum community, but where is this person? I haven't seen any posts or updates from them.

A lot of people have posted about issues in 1.5.2, and yet the hotfix they release is an update for 1.5.1 only. It's almost as if they are abandoning 1.5.2 already and hoping for the best with 1.5.3. I am the first to give credit where credit is due, it's just I can't find anything so far this month to really give them credit for. Last month I'd have given a long list already at the mid-point, "they did this, this, this, this, and this" but I have nothing to put on that list right now. I stopped arguing on TW's behalf because I can't find anymore evidence to support that argument. Fixing a few obscure crashes? I can't keep beating the same dead horse. I don't know if it was all the gamescon publicity related stuff that got them sidetracked, or if it is some rush to get the mod tools out, but they aren't telling us. Almost everything on the "plans for single player and engine" has either been done or has been abandoned, and we are in the dark on their current direction.

All that said, I am still playing BL and still having fun with the current version, but for the same reasons I had fun with prior versions. I don't think the game is garbage at all. I'm just not happy with the pace of progress and communication from TW this month.

This month has probably been one of the worst months for BL i of course still have my fun but this is probably the month with the least communication

Where can I find the new bugs? Under fallen logs? on trees?
I found the new sheeps, but I have yet to spot the new bugs.
LOL. This made me laugh so hard. Thanks for lightening the mood. Can you imagine the performance issues that would arise? Haha. I can just hear people now. "The game is full of bugs already, so TW decided to add real ones..." and someone else "Seriously, these bug textures are not BL quality", and "Historically, insects had 6 legs. What is this weird bug with 8 legs that looks nothing like a spider?"

This is an example of their problems in development. MOD tools? As much as people think they want them now, while we're this deep in development? No. No. Bad choice. Focus on the code base and the underlying game system. Get that going and on its own legs. Then mod tools.

OMFG this is gonna be a trainwreck. I'm surprised so many people don't see that coming.
So when are they going to start focusing on code base and the underlying game system? ?
Come on man, it's better we get mod tools sooner than later and people can start working on their own "games", so TW can train their university trainees slow and steady at their pace and people no longer have to be upset.

They can't all be working on mod tools though.

It's very confusing and I've brought it up before when they seemingly patched the stable version and not the beta! Their response at the time was like they didn't understand what I was asking or what the issue was. Are these changes already present in the beta version? Or is this an issue that only effect stable and not beta? Isn't everything in beta going to become the stable version? I don't remember their exact answer but it was not sufficient.

With the many ill-received AI-combat changes in 1.5-1.5.2 among other stuff, it might be fine to just go onto a very different build for 1.5.3, say using the 1.4.3 combat AI and unit load outs.

1.5.2 is unplayable, can't see party icon or troop numbers, trade is broken (tanneries), mega FPS problems with Batannia scenes, health is broken again for the 5th time, a few scenes are miss placed, teleport etc... Heck, this is just the beginning. They are going to have to get better a releasing these without breaking other fixed features. I mean how many times has trade been adjusted or broken? What like 10 times now.....

Yeah I really wish they could just focus down on one IMPORTANT game play thing, update it, fix it and so on until that part is stable and finished, then the next important game play thing, until we have a stable version with all the basics of the game finished. Then modders would have something to work with with the modding tools and we could be more comfortable with doing real playthroughs. Then they could look at improving or balancing those things more. Then they could add more new things like the ****ing boats and nords or whatever.

Of course I know that's not how they're set up. They probably have all the able employees already spread too thin and a back log of new (non-functional) armor models a bushes to approve from the rest of their employees. They can't just say "everyone draw a perk out of the hat and go code it in, it's time to finish this 1 part of the game (for now)", or maybe they did and that's why nothing works right

All these systems are interconnected though. So changes to one (quest frequency) can have an effect on another (prosperity) which in turn ripples to another (AI wealth) and trickles down to a player who isn't interested in the first three (AI parties filled with wounded men after ten years).

i thought the same thing and went with a "common sense" fix to something that went on to nuke my ingame economy. ****ed around and found out, as it were.

Well I guess we're just ****ed then. IMO all eco stuff can go to absolute end of the line. I want only player centric, player agency things. Character building and control. Anything else can basically not exist if I don't directly interact with it. I'll always be able to get money a troops so quests/eco could basically disappear and my games wouldn't be effected much.

This is looking to me like an advanced economic system with little to no interaction or immersion with the player. The engine is deep and interconnected but the player role in it is bland. Warband and the tons of mods I played had nothing like this and I never noticed.

Yeah, when most people are still struggling with deeper eco stuff I'm increasingly coming around to the opinion they should've simplified all the mechanics and had the workshops just give a flat per day income. But the current in-game inflation helps with longer playthroughs because your caravans make more money (like 1200-3000 per day) so affording troops becomes easier and a lot of people could use the help, so I'm torn on it.

Warband and the tons of mods I played had nothing like this and I never noticed.

Warband had a very similar dynamic economy.

So when is BannerKingdoms coming out ? Im waiting for the next game to be released. Get to work TW! And i want lootboxes this time! I want it now! And pay to win in the multiplayer section! Heck throw in an late game save file for 20 dollars while you´re at it. I got money to spend and want someone else to do the dirty work while a model is serving me lobster and champagne...Screw it i flush the champagne down the drain just because i can

The developers are working really hard, that can be seen even with a glimpse of the ones only i personally follow here, i see at what their local hours of the day they check out the forums, leave posts, discuss etc. Not to mention that i know and correspond with a number of them too.

The main man himself probably works the hardest of all according to them, as it's a project out of love, not money chasing, and many developers see this as their love project as well, that they wish to finally play and enjoy, while being proud that their names are forever written in the game's credits as one of the creators.

There are many things i personally don't consider to be even near optimal when it comes to TW development processes, but hard work and dedication is deffinitely not one of them, it's one of the special things you will not find in many other game development companies.

Design choices, communication style/frequency and the efficiency of the development process management are a whole other thing to be worried about, and justified in some cases, but we can have some influence on those things too, only by being respectful, creative and out-of-the-box thinking, not by holding a digital whip asking them to simply work harder.
very nicely said mr. moderator   *loves* *hugs* @Piconi
Everytime I see a unconstructive criticism bordering with insulting for one and onlyreason, to vent off the pressure cumulated in them, which happend due to extremely high expectations and nonsensely stated terms,I am getting a little HOT-HEADED RED-SEEING. My next posts in this thread willbe long and very prickly. But I need to say them loud...Sorry for that

@Ltlurker
I send you a friendly face palm, to make you feel a pain of a life you live, with games or without, with money or without. Only way to not feel a pain, is to work hard. Only way to feel life, is to work with passion and all you have said and the style you used to express yourself seems to have only goal, to ruin their passion, their hardly achieved trust of Us gamers,if you jsut blindly post a thread about some of your ''feeling'' that TaleWorlds doesn't work as hard as you expected.

Just imagine that you work on a mod, you post an advert on Nexus, with some ''release date'' and imagine people to push you to the terms...just try to imagine, just use your conscience...just use it man...USE IT and DO NOT EVEN TRY TO DENY MY WORDS.

for EVERYONE
This thread is a cancer...If I were developers, I would be smiling and laughing, or having really bad day...This is not fair-play -> this is noteven Sparta guys..This is cancer thread

and one more post from me....
TALKING TO MODDERS NOW
I know what you are all about...You want those modding tools because you are guys who had a dream about making games...IT sadly did not happen in your lifes, so now you cry on your neighbours sandbox.
All you want is the freedom of creativity you get of those modding tools, BUT WAIT A MOMENT!
This is a game, it will be legendary game with proper patience and with good ideas and calm heads.
We, gamers who loved Warband,we gamers who were FASCINATED by first M&B are WAITING PATIENTLY for the complete game, and we will wait even for few more years, because I can tell you for sure, that a game like this WILL NOT show up until BannerLord comes out completely.
The game is combinating RPG with Strategy which means COMPLETE FREEDOM gameplay-wise. And that is what we are waiting for, praying for, begging for, crying for all those years after Gothic 1,2 after Fable after all those titles that gave us the freedom, but not even close to level of freedom BannerLord could give us in future.

I can understand that creating mods is complete freedom, but DO NOT waste developers time with questions about it anymore, because its emberassing and It makes them fight two wars at one time.
I can understand the feeling of a modder, the feeling you make your story in a game-system like BannerLord is, but LET THEM COMPLETE THE GAME FIRST, or you never will get the freedom and the possibilities you even are capable thinking of.

That
Is
End
Of
My
Speech
thank you very much <3

I vote for deleting this thread before any developer will need to read any of those insults, any of those cancer human BLAH BLAHS
