TaleWorlds News: New News Necessary for the OT Neophytes

It doesn't really change that much, no one has any solid idea how to rule this country, the Coalition went from 'PiS policies are dangerous' to 'we will give you even more, plz vote for us' in a blink of an eye, the Left is just full of daydreamers that talk about powering every household with unicorn farts and the Confederation is the Confederation. I wasn't even kidding myself that PiS would lose by some miracle, my biggest hope now is, as silly as it is, that the Left will mature and get real during next four years, finally cut off certain questionable individuals and evolve into something worth a 'yes' vote instead of 'none of the above' one.

Preferably before 'kill-a-leftist' becomes national sport.

I mean, whole country remains in the hands of some old dude that has no administrative function besides being leader of the party and he's being almost deified in some regions. Don't know how you can go forward from there.

Oh yeah, and there's also promise of almost doubling minimum wage by the end of their term, because that's a safe thing to do, if you're wondering what's their next populist boat.

Do not look here said:
Will be entertaining to see the return of all the controversial people that were quickly hidden before the elections, like the head of Supreme Audit Office that was revealed to 'accidentally' rent one of his buildings (that was acquired in shady ways) to a brothel or those lovely guys from Ministry of Justice that were housing farm of haters there. In the ministry. Because of course they were.
And precisely that just ****ing happened

Mexico is having a bad time.

Mexican security forces aborted an attempt to capture a son of imprisoned drug lord Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman after finding themselves outgunned in a ferocious shootout with cartel henchmen that left at least eight people dead and more than 20 wounded, authorities said Friday.

The gunbattle Thursday paralyzed the capital of Mexico’s Sinaloa state, Culiacan, and left the streets littered with burning vehicles. Residents took cover indoors as automatic gunfire raged outside

Heavily armed men in greater force surrounded the house and also unleashed mayhem elsewhere, taking over toll booths and main roads into the city. Men carrying high-caliber weapons blocked major intersections.

Amid the chaos, inmates at a prison rioted, seized weapons from guards and fled. Fifty-six prisoners escaped, and 49 were still at large Friday, according to Sinaloa Public Security Secretary Cristóbal Castañeda. Two guards were taken captive and later freed.

Videos on social media showed a scene resembling a war zone, with gunmen, some in black ski masks, riding in the back of trucks and firing mounted machine guns as smoke rose above the cityscape. People ran for cover as gunfire rattled around them, and motorists drove frantically in reverse, trying to escape the bullets.

Looks like they hoped to resolve it with quick strike with minimal amount of people informed about whole thing. The cartel response reads like something a BBEG from a Steven Seagal movie would do, though. Unreal.

Report: More than half of all US doctors get money from pharma each year

https://arstechnica.com/science/2019/10/report-more-than-half-of-all-us-doctors-get-money-from-pharma-each-year/

Between 2014 and 2018, more than 600,000 of the approximately 1.1 million doctors in the US received at least one payment
from industry in any given year. The payments were for things including speaking fees, consulting, meals, gifts, travel, and royalties.

While thousands of doctors have made $100,000 or more, more than 2,500 received $500,000 or more
in the five-year period—and those payments do not include royalties. More than 700 received at least $1 million.

The data comes from the first full five-year period of the federal Open Payments Initiative, a part of the 2010 Affordable Care Act that requires companies to disclose such payments.
