TaleWorlds News: New News Necessary for the OT Neophytes

You can't pick the successor. An impeached president is succeeded by the vice president. We're more or less one year away from the elections. They can't plausibly impeach him with the Republican majority in the Senate and they know it. Their real goal is to mobilize lax center voters by pointing out that omg help us get rid of the president who is so bad at presiding that he's got impeachment proceedings against him. No doubt the Republicans will try to use it the other way around to mobilize the lax center voters by pointing out that omg Democrats are so petty and insecure that they abuse the constitution rather than face Trump honorably in fair elections. Only time will tell which strategy is better.

It's on.

US Democrats have opened a formal impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump over claims that he sought political help from Ukraine

But if impeachment moves forward it is unlikely to pass the Republican-controlled Senate and opinion polls show it is unpopular among US voters.
A transcript of the phone call has been released. I don't see anything particularly egregious, other than an improper use of "their" in place of "they're" by whomever typed it up.

why do you need to investigate biden tho, he's obviously senile. you don't need no detective to find that out
Alleged corruption.

By "nothing egregious" do you mean "asking the president of a foreign country to reopen alleged not-yet-public investigations of the son of his major electoral rival" and "coordinate this effort with a private US citizen working under the direction of the president to undermine his main electoral rival"?

Also the talking points they sent out were hilarious garbage to the point where the spokesperson emailed again to retract them lmao.

It's not a transcript. There is quid pro quo for election interference, even in the notes. Withholding military aid to pressure a foreign government to aid your personal political desires is illegal.

Be smarter than this, Wheem.

Which further complicates matters for the DNI, as it demonstrates that the complaint does indeed fulfill the criteria that would trigger the mandatory language in the statute. That makes his actions withholding the complaint from congress illegal, and his decision to ask two of the three main parties that are subjects of the complaint for their input on how to handle it all the more inexplicable.

Police officers succeeded in penetrating the building, a 5,000 square meter former NATO bunker with iron doors that goes five floors deep underground.
The building was located on a 1.3-hectare (3.2 acre) property secured with a fence and surveillance cameras.

Not suspicious at all. But nicely done by the GSG 9.

There's now a second whistle blower, with first hand knowledge of at least some of the events, for the Ukraine scandal. Mix in the released texts of the diplomats involved, and there is next to no chance Trump is not impeached. It's now just a question of whether or not he is convicted.

There's also a third whistle blower alleging political influence over the audit of the President's and/or Vice President's tax returns.

Not really that important, but PiS had no one to lose against in the elections and much to no one's surprise won again, crushing the opposition.

People celebrated, screaming 'now they'll fix everything', because apparently average voter had their memory lifespan shortened and not only doesn't remember the ****show of 2005-2007 when their government ended life prematurely, they don't even remember the fact they fixed ****-all for the last four years.

Will be entertaining to see the return of all the controversial people that were quickly hidden before the elections, like the head of Supreme Audit Office that was revealed to 'accidentally' rent one of his buildings (that was acquired in shady ways) to a brothel or those lovely guys from Ministry of Justice that were housing farm of haters there. In the ministry. Because of course they were.

EDIT: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-50037654

EDIT 2: but hey, apparently a joint operation of nationalists, outright fascists, libertarians and monarchists with some random junk sprinkled on top made it, so at least it will be funny.

Apparently the Left, Confederation dudes and Civic Coalition were most popular with Polish expats here in Iceland with around 25% each, PiS got 17% of the vote. That differs quite a bit from the election result in Poland.
