Recently Weinstein was sentenced to 23 years in prison.
Now he's (again) admitted to the hospital for "heart trouble"
A hospital is after all better than a jail cell.
He will obviously appeal the verdict. I thought he could easily get off with just 5 years or something. But that looks difficult now.

We have a politicien (in France) that was conviced of fraud with public money and has been sentence to jail. He play sick and now he can avoid prison.

The thought of terrorists getting willingly infected by diseases to act as vectors of infection by deliberately coughing and sneezing on people is more terrifying than the thought of them hijacking planes or wearing bombs.

Here in Denmark masked men stormed a hospital and stole hand sanitiser, masks etc. That is unprecedented.
Hospitals have now set up guards in areas that were previously of no interest at all.
A website where people can sell their used things has reported a surge in sales of sanitary products, at exorbitant prices.
(They have since put a stop to those ads/listings).
We "only" have about 900 infected and about 60 hospitalised. It's crazy.

It's funny to see people panic-buying, as if there would be a shortage of food. I went to the supermarket on Saturday, and it was unusually busy. People were buying raw meat especially, while the butchers were trying to keep up with demand. Among other popular choices is flour and staples.

The best advice is to stay home as much as possible though. We have a fresh example on why that is important. Yesterday, we had elections in a constituency, and about 12 000 people flocked the polling stations. According to an internal source we are acquainted with, 70 people from that constituency are now suspected to be infected, and are waiting to be tested. In one single village, there are 6 officially confirmed new cases. That adds to the previously confirmed 24 cases nationwide. It's crazy to see how much of a difference there is when you ban public gatherings. I wonder what the authorities were thinking when they decided to carry on with the elections.

Ever wondered why prices on Apple products are the same everywhere...
("The case began in 2012")

A month ago they finally paid a ridiculously small fine for slowing down old(er) software.

Restaurants, bars, cafes, casinos, and movie theaters have been forced to close (take out and delivery is still available I guess) for thirty days in Colorado. This is going to put tens of thousands of people out of work.

I am not looking forward to the global recession that feels inevitable at this point.

Just imagine if ebola had gotten so far out of control. That would be hell.

It's good to see a considerable fine being imposed. Apart from anything else it gets into the news, and the potential customer displeasure could encourage Apple to have more honest business practices in future.

Yeah, I fear the economic impact the most. The currency fluctuation is all over the place, and retail prices are increasing in my country. I'm especially worried about my economies, in case the local currency depreciates against the Euro/US dollar. Inflation is the last thing I need now.

Yeah. Seen some real ****ing disgusting responses of people cheering it on.

I can't really say about the USA, but here, most are filthy animals, with no regards for personal hygiene, coronavirus or not. The measures were mostly sensible at first, but since 90% of the people didn't apply them or even respect them(and their fellow human beings along the way) we also progressively head for forced closure of enterprises, after an increase in sick people and tragically, casualties(minor compared to other countries).
