Taleworld's has more than recouped their development costs in the first day, it's up to them now to live up to the expectation. Don't make the same mistake other companies make and become lax and lazy after a release thinking that you are safe, keep up the momentum and attack!

Prioritise the big issues, get the team fixing the crashes and the annoying bugs that prevent people from playing sometimes the biggest grievances can be caused by small seemingly unimportant bugs, then switch focus to creating content and go full steam ahead. No need to stop or take it easy just yet.

Guess they will just try to survive somehow the next few days.

Still great to see this game with 178.000 players ingame in steam and a solid 87% form almost 2700 reviews positive, despite the fact that
a bunch of people have massive performance problems and can't play (which is completly normal for this situation in the first couple of days).

Some things are bothering me, specially in the options to build your character, but overall its still a Mount&Blade...
and it is so beautiful :')

I wouldn't assume they've recouped all of their development costs in one single day, but I don't doubt that it's done very well for a small-ish studio. I'm sure they will continue to work very hard as they have been to keep improving the game, lots to be done!

I really liked it except hairs, I want more hairs damnit!

I talked more about the perk-system :p

The optical creation is (mostly) fine.
Ofc more hair is always nice (the beards are really great), i miss the ice-grey eyecolour from VC and body sliders for fat/muscles.
This way the char always looks semi-chubby-muscual, a fat Vladian merchant, a wiry Battanian scoundrel or a muscular Sturgian Raider won't really happen this way :/

Of any company, I have full confidence in Taleworlds to run a successful Early Access. They've always listened to their community, from the start. They may not be the best at communicating, however I think they prefer to let actions speak louder than words.

I think they've done a great job so far communicating the aims and goals of their unveiling of Early Access. Unlike other companies in the gaming industry, they don't view this as a "release", it's still very much a work in progress and they're committed to getting it right, with the help of players like us.

ooh my bad, I liked the perk-system too, though. Why didn't you like it?

I don't like this "level up" feeling in general, in M&B and Warban it felt kind of organic to develop the char (maybe because the attributes, too).
Also i dislike that i have to choose one perk, it feels like choosing in a skill tree for an mmo.
For an example the first bow-perks, draw quicker or hold draw for longer.
For a master archer i want both and i have no chance to get the other one, even if i would sacrifice a focus point for it or something like that.

I don't like those unflexible level up mechanics.
Matter of taste, without a doubt, just one of the very few negative impressions i got so far.
(Have i mentioned how beautiful it is? :') )

Actually yes you're right about that. I wish we could spend 2 level points but take both of them

Taleworld's has more than recouped their development costs in the first day,

Ehh, I'm not so sure. At 180.000 peak players x 40€ a copy, minus Steam's 30% cut is around 5 million. That's certainly a lot of money, but I don't know if it literally covers TW's expenses for almost a decade.

Armagan said they spent a few million dollars.

To think that Gaben probably made more than 3 million with Bannerlord already....

It's early access. Expect and accept plenty of bugs.
Bannerlord is their flagship. Taleworlds will not be lax. It's priority no. 1 to get it stable and bug free.

it'll be about 500,000 copies sold, so they've made 20 million minimum
