taking over your own faction? possible?

Hey i was just wondering, if you take over a city and the lord doesent give it  to you and you renounce your oath is it possible to completly take over that faction and make it youe own?
For example.

I take over Thir the Swadian king doesent give it to me i renounce my oath and take over te swadian empire and now i am king.
Is that possible?

As bobsters said. When you declare you are no longer under your kings oath, he hates you and takes your fiefs away. Then all of his enemies hate you, because you once liked the Swadians, and all who were neutral hate you, because you denounced your oath and loyalty. Then the game has no way for you to regain trust easily.

But to take castles and cities you have to join another faction.

Maybe they will do something more involved about politics in the game. Gaining allies and power you could finally overthrow the king... or let him die while imprisoned in some filthy dungeon and become the new king

I find it weird that making war on my kings enemies doenst gain me points with him equal to the points I lose with his enemies.

Nope, I have requested and still request that to be implemented, you need to be able to overthrow the king.
However when I posted it on the privy council people said I was nuts  http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,27169.msg680243.html#msg680243.
I still request the ability to overthrow the king, make a faction (probably of outlaws rising to power?  ) and the that you get to keep your fiefs even after I split from a king (especially when MY troops keep the castle/town, and of the king wants my lands he can come and get them, after all I am fed up with the king.
So if you would like go and revive the topic.

it would be great if it was possible, it would also be very nice if there would be a kind of ranking system where you start as a low noble men end you become like the right had of the king (stuff like that)

The two aren't mutually exclusive - I mean, you could be nuts, and it could still be a good idea.  Maybe they were going off-topic a bit.

Taking over a kingdom should be what the games all about!  Going from nothing to Lord od the land and having to make decisions based on teh Larger Picture!

I LIKE IT!!

It should be that you can MAKE your own faction from the beginning by taking castles/towns on your own or making a rival/rebellious faction.  Here's how I see it.

Bandit Kingdom:  This is the generic name of your lands after you have taken a castle/multiple castles (on you're own, without taking an oath to a liege) with a grey color being your faction's color.  This is because you are not considered a legitimate power.  Also, since you are not a legitimate power your taxes are half those they would be if you were legitimate and you cannot recruit at your village/castle anything but lowly bandits (which can eventually become one of the higher forms --> Forest or Mountain bandits) or mercenaries from town taverns.  Lastly your lands should be plagued by higher than usually number of various bandit parties.

New Kingdom:  Once you take a townyou can be considered a true power in the land and declare your own kingdom with a name of your choosing.  You also get to pick your color from a palette and you get to pick a banner for yourself.  Taxes and bandit appearances are normalized and you can recruit normally.  You can also bribe/convince nobles to join your kingdom.  Their lands will not come with them in this case and you will have to provide them with some territory to tax.  Your ability to bring them over will depend on these factors: 1-Renown, 2-persuasion, 3-Honor similarity (if they have high honor, they want you to have high honor too and vice versa), 4- They will demand a feif (non-negotiable) and an amount of funds (negotiable), 5-personal relationship.  If your other factors are very high they may only ask for a fief to join you, but if they are low enough they may outright refuse regardless of WHAT you offer.  Minimum renown for noble acquisition=500.

Rebel Kingdom:  If you become disgruntled you can declare a rival kingdom to the one you belong to, starting a civil war.  You again choose a name for your kingdom and a color.  Towns and Nobles (as separate entities) will join you based on the same factors mentioned above (the better the stats the more will join you) within a few days of your declaration.  Towns, of course will not have to be bribed with fiefs and, in this case, you need high honor regardless of the noble's honor level.  Nobles will not ask for money, but only fiefs when they ask to join you.  Their castles will come with them but not their towns or villages (you have to earn a good relationship with those on your own terms).  It is possible to take up to 75% of a factions holdings in this way (volunteering to join your rebel faction within those first few days), but this is only if your renown, relationships, honor, ect. is INCREDIBLY higher (more than 50%) than the current king.  You can subsequently bribe nobles (or imprison them) and conquer towns after this point as if you were a separate kingdom.  You can never renounce your kingship unless you Kingdom is completely conquered, at which point everyone leaves you except your companions and you start from scratch. with only 100 renown (brought down due to losing a KINGDOM!!!).

It does sound good, though the banit kingdom should be a much harder path.  Think about it.  Since you are a bandit, your villiages will be theives dens, and pirate hovels.  Getting troops should be difficult, as you should be seen as a banit.  In this case, the higher your renown the more % of bandits you come across will join you.  Also, just as with other banits, all other factions should be hostile towards you.

As to the rebel kingdom,  it should be hard to get anyone to join you as to get to this point, you must break your oath.  No other nobel should see this as a good thing.  On the other hand,  as the wars play out, other nobles that take castles (with high renown) and are not allowed to keep them should have a chance of denouncing thier oaths as well, and would then join you.
