Taking garrison from a lord's castle?

Hi all,

I'm reading through the wiki and learned that you can take the garrison of a castle assigned to a lord.  How do you do this?  I've had conversations with my lords, but this option never came up.

One of the options in the text is to give troops to your lord, but this is only one-way; you can only give him troops, you can't take any. To take troops I believe you have to reassign the fief to yourself and then return it once you've removed what you want.  The relation comes out even, so there isn't a penalty as far as I know.
