Take back my companions' equipment when they die.

I love that my companions can die now too, but it's quite annoying when I've sunk 40k into their armour, horse and weapons for it all to just disappear with their corpse. Could we please have their equipment added to our inventory when they snuff it.

meh I think that's unrealistic. they could make it an option but it should give you a bad reputation. if you're short on money go smith 2h swords and be shocked

once you get the flacion blade and have some spare steel, make the longest 2h sword with like 115 cut damage and watch the 30k tags rise up lol. Then when you get a good javelin head and make the damage as high as you can, I'll get them going to max at like 110k. But I agree that this is a bit annoying especially if you literally just bought them new gear.

Alternatively, make a separate group you don't need for a 'general's guard' like I did in old warband and just have them follow you around on foot or horse, or keep them back if they're safe from cav

How is it unrealistic? I paid for all their gear and none of these wanderers seem to have any family to give their equipment to anyway.
I know money isn't an issue thanks to smithing but I'm trying to avoid just cheesing the game like that.

they're supposed to be your characters friends and respected warriors. they get buried with it

This, I've suggested something like this before, but giving some more importance to character's death would be cool, you should be able to choose wether to keep their equipment for yourself at the cost of army morale or leave it at the tomb increasing morale and stuff.
