What does this skill actually do? I know it raises the initial 'Your are disadvantaged' type message at the beginning of a battle but what effect does being disadvantage actually have on my or my mens ability to fight? Ive not noticed any so ive never really bothered to upgrade it

Thanks

It doesn't affect their ability to fight, it affects how many men you can field at once compared to your enemy. I'm not sure how it works exactly, but basically higher advantage means you can have more men on the field compared to your opponent. The size of your army compared to theirs and your tactics ability both affect this amount. When i take my army of 50 cavalry with tactics of 6 against a band of 35 mountain bandits, i have more than twice as many units on the field at once as they do. Every 2 levels into tactics increases your battle advantage by 1.
