Its there for the story-line planned.
Dar does sell some fine ale though (+10 Morale) and there is a weapons trader near the docking.

Estimations from me are usually wildly inaccurate, especially when it comes to a field of which I am fairly uneducated in; coding. Its very likely the next version will contain new quests and its a possibility the storyline will be progressed a bit more. But a completed storyline could be out by the end of this year or it might take even longer, its hard to tell. If I do progress in it, its not something I will keep quiet about, so you would see it in a progress update when new quests and such have been added.
