system requirements_ running problem

what is the minimum system requirements for this game. because the current version doesnt work in my pc. the program doesnt even start.
note: pc is quite old...

How old, what are it's specs. e.g. mine is a P4 2.8ghz, 1gb ram ect.

I have a PIII 450, a TNT2 video card and 256 RAM. The game is comfortably playable (average about 20 fps) with the settings on minimum.

And on this sticky thread it says :

(4) What are mimimum system requirements for the game?:

You would at least need a graphics card with "hardware transform and lighting" and, say, 32 MB of memory (Any kind of geforce would do).

As for other min specs:

Processor: Pentium 766 MHz
Memory: 128 MB
100 MB of free hard disk space

There may be several causes for this

a- Various viruses and spyware may cause this problem. You may want to have a look at a program called hijackthis (Address: http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/). Also check out this thread and this thread for further info.

b - there is reported to be a conflict with Tiny Personal Firewall. It seems that this program injects a thread to all running programs and this causes M&B's copy protection to shut down thinking it's under a hacking attack.
