Sword Feinting

So this may be something everyone but me has already noticed and as such I'm looking like a complete idiot, but I've never even seen this mentioned before so I thought I would bring it up.

I've noticed with a sword you can start an attack from one direction, and if you click soon enough you can switch attack directions quickly and attack from another angle. I only noticed when I went to stab one time with a sword and made a swing instead. I clicked one while pushing down to start the stab, and after I started to reach out and stab I clicked again while moving to the right. My character started to stab and then switched to a right to left swing, without me having to hit block or anything. Seems to work during about the first 1/3rd of an attack, and only for swords.

So, am I just slow or is this a revelation? If anything else I figure maybe some other "noobs" to the game will see this post and learn something new.

This came into the game in 0.62x something and has been covered in many threads already.

Hmm, I didn't ever notice it mentioned. I've heard feinting by blocking of course, but nothing about feinting using just the attack button again, and only for swords.

Oh well, I'm a bit behind the curve than.
