Switching control between companions

Redcoat - Mic 说:
No. No. No. No.
Redcoat is usually right.

I would like however, to be able to give one or several, not neccesary all, of my companions individual commands. Like, Rolf, guard me, or Katrin, move to the front, or Marnid, cease and desist your puny attempts at shooting with that bow!

Rhodoks! Stop trying to be robinhood! The enemies are 10,000 miles away and walking through the woods under a huge concrete parking structure!

Maybe from a roleplay perspective this is not a good idea, as it would definitely ruin immersion. However, from a gameplay perspective I think that it would make battles a lot more entertaining if you didn't have to restart them from the beginning each time you were struck by an unlucky blow. Being able to continue in control of a companion would allow you to finish the battle in one run instead of a number of staggered skirmishes.

one word avarice..... optional

Make it optional before the game, just like how you save. "Full on battles (Continue as companion) or observer" "Norma, (Being downed ends battle)"

I like the idea of being able to observe after you're knocked out . . . doesn't end the battle right away, and it could be limited to one or two more spawnings.  Just until your men are able to reach you and drag you away from the action.

As for the original idea - my personal preference would be to stay as the PC.  The NPC's have this new relationship thing, as well as morale which may cause them to leave the party.  All of that disappears when you're able to jump into their bodies and suddenly control their thoughts.  You can develop the NPC heroes by providing them with equipment, and putting them in the action as much as possible.  Just keep your party size reasonable - too big and they never get experience, too small and they get knocked out or you lose the battle.  I prefer smaller.  If they're on horseback, have the cavalry charge.  If they're infantry, use them.  We get to develop them already without occupying their souls . . .  Good idea, but my preference is to stay where it is.
