And if surgery would be used to avoid that the stupid nobleman, killed by the even more stupid dies so that you might have a second chance to bring him to the king?

a fair possibility, but still something to keep alive hope until the end of battle.
 
he means that, when you accidentally kill the nobleman, you should (in his opinion) be able to use your surgery skill on him to just wound him, resulting in succeeding in the mission.
 
Well, saving the nobleman via surgery seems to be a limited case in itself, and generally other prisoners aren't even in harm's way to begin with - so how would they need surgery?

This proposal is easy to implement (since it is a simple call on a function like surgery(this) in the dying procedure of the enemy...
or, if there is an if that controls if a dying one belongs or not the the party, there's a simple number n of hits on the DEL key....
