I'm an old player (since 0.751) but new to v. 0.901  so...:

What does it mean that a village is cooperative or supportive of you?
My relationship with my fief Balanli is 25 and it says that the villagers are somewhat
supportive... What could a village possibly support me with?

Anyone know?

Men! The more they like you, the more men are available for hire. I dont know if there are other features thow.

Now that my fiefs are richer, I can sometimes recruit Militias and even Footmen instead of Recruits. I'm not sure if it depens on how rich the village is, but I think so, since it never happened to me when the village was poor.

Thanks for the answers! and...

Wow! I didn't know you could get other men than recruits.

The another question occurs:
You can also get a town to be supportive of you!
But I don't collect taxes or recruit men in towns.
So what does that do? (Do you have to own the town perhaps...?)

That's what a fief is, after all

Has anyone tested to see if a higher relation with a town = lower prices? I would think if a town liked you more, they would be more willing to part with items as you help it along the way by providing good services. I'll have to go test this out when I get a chance.

To become popular you would need to give your peasants money and help them every day as a ruler. Stingy greedy land owners are reviled.

I've bought over 7000 denares worth of supplies at my fief  But I meant a major city when I said towns, my mistake for not being clear enough.

You can collect taxes if you recieve a town as your fief. You can't recruit AFAIK, but given that the manage option simply returns a TODO screen I assume town fiefs are still in development.
