super crossbow missing

I got bored and decided to make a super cross bow, 60 damage, 255 velocity but it seems that like I can't hit anything. I zoom in, the aiming thing is a small as it gets and the bolt looks like it goes though the guy but no hit, this happens mostly at longer ranges but sometimes after missing someone close up I have to pull out my throwing knives, anyone know why this happens?

It's because of the velocity, decrease it, or else the arrow goes through the target.

Setting the velocity that high makes it "skip" in and out of existance. So you end up missing people. I think...
