Sultan of Political Incorrectness

So I wanted to check out the Sarranids as I didn't know much about them, having played Nords so far and being pretty far from the Sarranids. I started the game in Shariz and played a female character to see how that would play out. I did the mercenary thing for a while, met the lords of various factions, who btw pretty all are male chauvinistic bastards, and the time came to become a vassal of the Sultan. Turns out he was no different than the rest and wouldn't give me fief because I'm a woman. It would just make him look bad, he thought. So I guess ima join up with the Khergits and lock his political incorrect sultan ass up in a dungeon. Pretty awesome feature, though, I will say

Anyone else encounter any odd situations like that elsewhere in the kingdoms?

unfortunetly you are going to find that with all kings i beleive. I would suggest exacting revenge in later years by capturing them all in your own prisons for your own kingdom

So far, the only way I've found for a female player to get a fief right away is to be a rebel with a castle and then request to be a vassal. Or, you can wait till the chauvinist-pig-bastards give you one. Yeah, the Sultan still languishes in my dungeon. There's a special cell waiting for King Ragnar, too.

you could always do a claimant quest. u can normally end a claimant quest with at least a town and maybe a castle.

King Graveth gave my female char the first castle we captured after I swore vassalage.

solution -  take a castle, let castle get taken, take weakly held castle, and you basically get it from the king straight away, since whoever he was giving it to "lost it" and you claimed it twice, so you must be superior.

trying to find a kingdom with a majority who either commend you for fighting even though you are a woman, or mean no offense when they say  it saddens them to see women fighting, helps a lot.
