The Chronicles of Talera can always be made better. Please, if you have any suggestions- many of you have already made excellent suggestions that have found their way into the mod- post them here.

I'll work on getting them in if they seem like they'd fit.

Thanks.

i guess for now... the game needs more of elvenbow's models... most of the things in the game is still native stuff rite?

then seriously... pls replace the native plate armor... i know it looks historic... but its an eyesore to see an army of tortoises armed with two handed swords charging at u... something like this would look better for soldiers... its a fantasy mod rite (since there are zombies).... so tis should qualify....

Ps . that helm is ugly

and maybe a set of armor to go with the demon sword... the armor should be hidden at many places though
note : tis is from guildwars... it might be a bad example but i can't find a better example to show u... others are too evil demonic warlord commanding thousands of demons-ly to show u

maybe call the set cursed armor or something... hahaha... i wun know... juz giving random suggestions for the mod...

also... now i'm having my public exams... but after that i wanna learn how to use wings3d ... so instead i could contribute models instead of ideas... anyone give me a tutorial??

I'm not too big on the Japanese style armour, although the first looks pretty great. Again, this ia fantasy mod, but only in that the world is changed. People would still behave in the same way as other humans. Practicality would still reign supreme.

that i have to agree with u... i only put up the second pic because the first time i found the hidden city was accidental (i was spawned at sentinel then)... den to picture a guy in leather armor wielding a cursed demonic sword... looks kinda out of place... but nvm... ur words are always final...

ps. correction... its not Japanese style armor... its a 'guild war ppl trying to copy Japanese style armor but ended up with a bad texture and a flat model' style armor

I think a bow like this would look pretty good:

I'd suggest that the Blighted Plague be buffed somehow. The story says that they're incredibly powerful, but their troops just have a ton of HP. They don't have the best armor or weapons, and the lords that command them aren't really that much stronger than you (the player) are, if at all.

Maybe if every time a BP lord wins a battle, they gain 20-40 more units to make it seem like they're raising the bodies of the enemies they defeated. That would make players rush to get an army together to defeat them, since the plague lords would increase in strength constantly as you have to face other threats. It would also have them play a lot more aggressively and take land like from the other factions like it's going out of style.

Assuming that something like this is possible, of course.

One would think that the Blighted Plague soldiers (At least most of them, not super high-tier) would simply be raised from fallen enemies. Fallen enemies, as I take it, usually fell in battle. Fighting. Wearing down their weapons and armor. Then dying. Rather blunt view on that, but I'd think that the Dread Lords, mean as they are, wouldn't exactly feel like... Buying new stuff for their men to wear. They'd probably just say 'Use what you died with', even though it might be of suckish quality. That's my explanation of it, at least.

How about a half plate armour like this : http://www.turbosquid.com/FullPreview/Index.cfm/ID/206561

I agree. I'll work on a script to give them necromancer-ish powers. As well, I'll continue the revamp of them. They seem a bit stretched thin at the moment..

Quite true. The equipment for soldiers is generally rushed but so essential. I'll be going over every troop tree and improving them.

Alright, some changes:

Recruits now cost 40 per man. This is to stop you from becoming a world-leader within the first 5 days. Also, a recruit from any of these factions is far better than a swadian recruit...

As well, Gilaes now has patrols of Wardens which will engage armies of bandits and plagued walkers on sight. Their armies are usually around 40 men. I've done a ton of other things...

Well, there is a lot of out-of-context problems with an undead faction
- Caravans in the Blight faction.
- Quest for caravan escort to a Blignt town.
- Raiding Blight villages, steal their cattle (zombi cows also? )

#Think Calradia is too peaceful? Talera has no politics and no peace- nations fight to the death. Well, there is the stop this war quest.

Should mercenaries be all kind of races? (except undead)

I don't understand the "Adventurers" name for those looters, at first I though they were like the manhunters.

This is a very nice mod, but you've made it really hard to start out in the beginning. First of all, most starting Denars get at most 2-3 recruits with your new price. The fact you said that they are better than Native might be true, but you've also made the generic enemy, Looters, better than in Native. I don't enjoy fighting a starting enemy that can kill me in one or two hits. I suggest making Looters a little less like Sea Raiders, personally... Also, in the new version, I think you went a bit overboard with the creeps. 100 unit creep parties with like 10 of them in a five foot radius means a lot of surrendering at the start. I'd say tone down the creeps a bit, or lower the price to like 20 denars per recruit.

That's more a matter of opinion. I figure that when I play M&B I stop becoming a "mercenary" after 2 in-game days; find a tournament, bet, recruit 50 soldiers.
Fight together or die alone; the world is a dangerous place, and unless you're a powerful lord, you wouldn't normally venture into bandit-infested territory.

In a way, this diversifies the game a lot. Asaleth is unique not only in its troop tree, but in the fact that it is a well patrolled, safe area.

The creep parties are slower than you, generally, so you can outrun them. Its a hard, cold world.

God I loved Danath.

Some of those quests will be hard to change. Besides, the blighted plague isn't actually a horde of zombies. It is directed by perfectly sane people. As such, they would still need supplies for any human servants and weapons for their minions.

hmmm.... i guess some factions would still need factions weapons for their unique high tier troops... u know... to make them unique

ElvenBow is working on it.

Gilaes sounds disturbingly close to Gilineas. I'm aware you're a Warcraft fan, Ellenmmare? Heh, so am I. >.>

I don't play WoW, but I loved Warcraft 2- and in it, Gilnaes (black). The name is completely random, but the faction was modelled after Switzerland or Belgium to be honest..

According to the game info the Gladeborn Rangers are supposed to be expert archers yet looking through the trops with the troop editor I discovered this:

Everwatch Sharpshooters have 15str, Archery Proficiency of 152
Asaleth Squire have 15str, Archery Proficiency 222, Powerdraw 6
Gladeborn Ranger have 7str, Archery 113, Powerdraw 5

My suggestion is since the rangers are supposedly elite archers is to, either  the next patch or the next full release to increase their archery proficiency to somewhere at least 300 or maybe even 400. Also maybe give them a better bow and arrow, I used the troop editor to give them War Bows and Bodkin Arrows and it seems much better. This might sound a lot but most enemies have decent armour or shields so the proficiency is necessary to at least weaken enemies before they get close as rangers only have a sabre for close combat.

Thanks for noticing that. Still, I won't make them amazing; they're supposed to be a mix between archers and swordsmen. Thanks for your keen eyesight and hackery

Ive got an idea for a nordish unit. dont know what name to call him but: this unit can stand with 10 comrads and have 600 men batter their swords against their shields (exaderating) and nstill be in one piece. their the classic shield wall people.
